Dear chess.com, Lofi Girl, and club members, I wish all chess.com collabs wouldn't die as soon as they are born. This Lofi Girl collab is a particularly nice one. I have noticed that Lofi Girl puts out a long retrospective track at the end of each year. I have listened to the ones from 2021 and 2022 and they are wonderful. Lofi Girl music makes me feel nice. The people selecting tracks, and doing the volume adjustments, fades, and fine-tuning know what they are doing. Their imitators don't, so the experience is not the same. I have some studio training, so I can say this. In exploring Lofi Girl, I have found that while she makes us feel so good, she has reasons to be lonely and sad. She cries for her missing parents, who I assume have died. She fails her test. She's alone on the holidays, except for her cat. Having said all this, I have two wishes for Lofi Girl at New Year's: I wish we could have a New Year tournament while listening to the 2023 compilation I'm sure they'll make I wish something nice would happen to Lofi Girl this New Year's.
