This is the suggested themed tournament - Pablo's suggestion, and since there were no others, I decided to go with this one,I cannot speak for others, but I certainly need to learn new openings- this might be one way. Join if you are able, from past experience, they fill up quickly http://www.chess.com/tournament/sicilian-defense-najdorf-variation2
we will not start another tournament for a week or so- until at least one of the others has come to an end. I was wondering about the next- we could have the standard start, or try one of the themed tournaments- how do you feel about this idea? By playing themed tournaments, we might just learn new openings.

We will start a new tournament, but this will be smaller until the 2nd 4th and 5th are completed. From now on tournaments will be no vacation, and please only register if you are able to play quickly. I will make it for 15- so if you are able to play quickly and have space for 4 more games, please join. The advantage so far of this group is that unlike larger groups, anyone stands a chance of coming in the top 3. here is the link- http://www.chess.com/tournament/the-speedy-play-in-a-day-tournament

Congradulations to Our Team. Although we lost the tournament, winning 12 games while only losing 18 against a Team that out ranked our players by at least 150 pts per player is a Hell of a show and we should be proud that we did as good as we did.
I am notgetting alot of feedback from people, and this group is meant to be fun with no pressure- sthat isn't a problem. I have set up the next touanment, because only a few are involved in the 2nd and 4th which are on going, but more improtanty because we have new members. Join if you re bale, or would like to. I have set it for 20, but if after 3 days there are only 15 or less, I'll reduce to 12 or 15 and start it up. Here's the link- http://www.chess.com/tournament/play-in-a-day-tournament

I will be away next week, so I'd like to give you the chance to stay busy. The 2nd tournament is 54% completed an the 4th is 74% completed. Please post here if you'd like to start another. I won't join, because I'm a away- but you can cotinue to play. By looking at the tournaments under way- you should have agood idea of who will progress to the next rounds. If you'd like to ente another- especially since we have new members. Include your name here, and I'll set one up- whether it's for 15 players or just 5.

I always saw this group as a small one- in which people were quite active- that's the way it is at the moment. There are lots of groups of several hundred- no need for another one. I think that ideally this group should be around 50 members. If anyone knows someone who plays quite fast- perhaps we could invite them. This is not urgent- don't know about others, but so far I have been quite pleased with the group. We are all friendly- and it would be good to maintain the nature of the group.

Hi Players. I am starting another fast tournament How about a Quicky # 3 problebly on the last page of the tournament list at this time. 1 day move, no vacation. 1350-1650. The 1st one was completed in less than 2 weeks and the 2nd is now 80 percent completed in just over a week. It is fast and fun. For those of you who are like me facing guys who are rated 150 or more pts above you in the Turk match, this is a lot more equal for everyone. All Team members in the 1350-1650 range are invited to play. Thank you.
Come guys. Lets fill the team and get a match going against the Turks.

The present tournament has come to a halt, something that I am not happy about. I would like to start another, with the intentions of completing it within a few days. I will set it up in 6 hours. Those interested, and able to play quickly, please submit your names here. Please only regster if you are able to complete 4 games within 3 days or so.

I have posted a new tournament called How About a Quicky #2. 1 Day move, no vaction, 10 players, rating 1350-1650. The first is about 80 percent done in about a week, so it moves along nicely. I invite all club members who would to play to enter.
I'm on all day, if anybody want to play a game through send me a challenge.
I 've set another team match up, if anybody would like to join here's the link http://www.chess.com/groups/team_match.html?id=26970
