Bobby Fischer Fischer in 1960 Full name Robert James Fischer Country United StatesIceland (2005–08) Born March 9, 1943Chicago, Illinois, U.S. Died January 17, 2008 (aged 64)Reykjavík, Iceland Title Grandmaster (1958) World Champion 1972–75 Peak rating 2785 (July 1972 FIDE rating list) Robert James "Bobby" Fischer (March 9, 1943 – January 17, 2008) was an American chess prodigy, grandmaster, and the eleventh World Chess Champion. Many consider him the greatest chess player of all time. At age 13 Fischer won a "brilliancy" that became known as The Game of the Century. Starting at age 14, Fischer played in eight United States Championships, winning each one by at least a one-point margin. At age 15, Fischer became both the youngest grandmaster up to that time and the youngestcandidate for the World Championship. At age 20, Fischer won the 1963–64 U.S. Championship with 11/11, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament. Fischer's My 60 Memorable Games (1969) remains a revered work in chess literature. In 1970, "Fischer dominated his contemporaries" by winning the 1970 InterzonalTournament by a record 3½-point margin and winning 20 consecutive games, including two unprecedented 6–0 sweeps in the Candidates Matches.[7] In July 1971, he became the first official World Chess Federation (FIDE) number-one-ranked player, spending 54 total months at number one. In 1972, he captured the World Chess Championship from Boris Spassky of the USSR in a match, held inReykjavík, Iceland, publicized as a Cold War confrontation which attracted more worldwide interest than any chess championship before or since. In 1975, Fischer refused to defend his title when an agreement could not be reached with FIDE over one of the conditions for the match. Afterward, Fischer became a recluse, disappearing from the public eye until 1992, when he won an unofficial rematch against Spassky. It was held in Yugoslavia, which was under aUnited Nations embargo at the time. His participation led to a conflict with the U.S. government, which sought income tax on Fischer's match winnings, and ultimately issued a warrant for his arrest. In the 1990s, Fischer patented a modified chess timing system (which added a time increment after each move; now a standard practice in top tournament and match play) and created a new variant of chess called Fischerandom (Chess960). During the 1990s and early 2000s, Fischer lived in Hungary, Germany, the Philippines, Japan, and Iceland, and made increasingly anti-American and anti-semitic remarks on various radio stations. Possibly as a result, his U.S. passport was revoked. Fischer, unaware of his passport's revocation, traveled to Japan, where he was arrested by Japanese authorities, and detained for over eight months (in 2004 and 2005) under threat of deportation. In March 2005, Iceland granted Fischer full citizenship, leading Japanese authorities to release him from prison. Fischer flew to Iceland, where he lived until his death on January 17, 2008.

Mikhail Tal (Latvian: Mihails Tāls; Russian: Михаил Нехемьевич Таль,Michail Nechem'evič Tal, pronounced [mʲixʌˈiɫ nʲɪˈxɛmʲɪvʲit͡ɕ ˈtal]; sometimes transliterated Mihails Tals or Mihail Tal; 9 November 1936 – 28 June 1992)was a Latvian chess Grandmaster and the eighth World Chess Champion(from 1960 to 1961). Widely regarded as a creative genius and the best attacking player of all time, he played in a daring, combinatorial style. His play was known above all for improvisation and unpredictability. Every game, he once said, was as inimitable and invaluable as a poem. He was often called "Misha", a diminutive forMikhail, and "The magician from Riga". Both The Mammoth Book of the World's Greatest Chess Games and Modern Chess Brilliancies include more games by Tal than any other player. Tal was also a highly regarded chess writer. He also holds the records for both the first and second longest unbeaten streaks in competitive chess history. The Mikhail Tal Memorial has been held in Moscow annually since 2006 to honour Tal's memory.
Mikhail Botvinnik in 1962 Full name Mikhail Moiseyevich Botvinnik Country Soviet Union Born August 17, 1911Kuokkala, Grand Duchy of Finland, Russian Empire (nowRepino, Russia) Died May 5, 1995 (aged 83)Moscow, Russia Title Grandmaster World Champion 1948–571958–601961–63 Peak rating 2660 (January 1971)[1] Mikhail Moiseyevich Botvinnik, PhD (Russian: Михаи́л Моисе́евич Ботви́нник,pronounced [mʲixaˈiɫ̺ mʌiˈs̺ʲɛjɛvʲitʃʲ bʌt̺ˈvʲin̺n̻ʲik]; August 17 [O.S. August 4] 1911 – May 5, 1995) was a Soviet and Russian International Grandmaster and three-time World Chess Champion, widely considered one of the greatest chess players of all time. Working as an electrical engineer and computer scientist at the same time, he was one of the very few professional chess players who achieved distinction in another career while playing top-class competitive chess. He was also a pioneer ofcomputer chess. Botvinnik was the first world-class player to develop within the Soviet Union, putting him under political pressure but also giving him considerable influence within Soviet chess. From time to time he was accused of using that influence to his own advantage, but the evidence is unclear and some suggest he resisted attempts by Soviet officials to intimidate some of his rivals. Botvinnik also played a major role in the organization of chess, making a significant contribution to the design of the World Chess Championship system after World War II and becoming a leading member of the coaching system that enabled the Soviet Union to dominate top-class chess during that time. His famous pupils include World Champions Anatoly Karpov, Garry Kasparov and Vladimir Kramnik.

Personally, I would love to see a 40K movie!  Why?  Well, check out this blog entry I wrote some time ago: Give Us a Film Worthy of the Emperor! Then I thought about it some more and realized that perhaps a 40K film is just too risky in today's politically correct world: The Undying Emperor is Catholic   What do you think?  Should Hollywood make a 40K film?  If so, who should direct? Who would star in it?
Folllowing the defeat of the chaos forces in the Horus Heresy Many traitor (chaos aligned) Marine Chapters fled the Imperium's wrath ,they sought refuge in The Eye of Terror This is a rift in the fabric of reality from the very essence of chaos spews Here protected by patron demons they live forever fighting an eternal war against humanity this means constant vigilance is needed to prevent incursions or stem invasions for the last 31,000 years
For now a pic storage place but will add to a description of the chapter soon
All armies need support units Space Marines are no different , Librarians fulfill many functions granted to them is the sacred lore of their chapter needing very agile minds they possess a powerful psychic ability on the battlefield to aid their comrades when not fighting they also work closely with navigators providing a psychic shield when the battle barges traverse the warp Chaplains are the most devout and dedicated of Earths warriors they wield a crozius in battle rippling with energy it easily cleaves through any foe outside of combat they lead the litanies of faith scout new recruits and are a source of courage when fear grips the marine they also work closely with apothecaries monitoring scouts undergoing the sometimes brutal transformation of a scout into a space marine Techmarines devout followers of the machine god tend to weapons and vehicles and with the chaplain maintain the purity and function of all weapons and vehicles used by a chapter Apothecaries are excellent battlefield medics often single handedly taking on many foes to reach a fallen marine who they have a strong bond too as they oversee a fledgling marine as his geneseed is manipulated to create the form necessary to become a space marine in order of post here they are
Coming from the Eye of Terror a tear in the fabric of the universe ,serving the greater chaos demon Khorne The World Eaters launch attacks on the Imperium for 31000 years Favouring close combat these marines who have the build of space marines but also the corrupting enhancements of chaos collect skulls for their lord Khorne Here are a few pics
Becoming a Space Marine requires genetic changes and enhancements to be able to operate as one of Humanities finest warriors As you are probably aware Space marines wear the best armour ever known to mankind to support this their frame must be increased in size to at least seven and a half foot this process is painful for the inductee but necessary A secondary heart is implanted into the body cavity to aid the increase in blood flow needed in this new form To protect these a ossmudule is implanted this strengthens bone and causes the rib cage to become a solid bone plate Larramans organ is a useful implant releasing localised healing unguents allowing a marine to self heal handy when a medic aint about Catalepsean node allows a marine to rest certain parts of himself as in sleep whilst still being fighting active this allows a marine to wage war constantly if needed Occulobes enhance vision and spectrums allowing night vision naturally as a bonus Melachrome allows a marine to change skin pigment to suit the enviorment he works in also good v solar radiation Betchers gland allows a marine to turn saliva to acid less a weapon unless needed but more a lock picking thing is what i use it for Pro genoid glands store the genetic code of the marine and in the event of a marines death can be extracted and returned to the chapter to preserve and renew the marine There are many other modifications but for fun i leave it to you all to investigate and post Now you know why Regicide will be Invincible
(Hey! Chess.com works again! This was announced a few days ago but I couldn't make a post because of the technical issues of the site). Looks like we are going to get a real version of Regicide: "Hammerfall Publishing in association with Games Workshop has announced “Warhammer®40,000®: Chess – Regicide” coming to multiple gaming platforms in 2014. Set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the game brings the iconic Games Workshop IP together with one of the most popular board games of all time. “The game has gone beyond the standard boundaries of chess to revolutionize the way it is seen” said Cathrin Machin, the Project Lead at Hammerfall Publishing. “In creating the ground-breaking new Codex chess engine, the campaign mode represents a world first in strategy gaming”. Players can choose from single and multiplayer classic chess modes, as well as an enthralling Blood Angels story driven campaign based on a totally new concept of chess. The narrative was written by Games Workshop published author Ross Watson. “When this game was envisaged, it was like two worlds which belonged together had collided.” Said Cathrin. “The game honours the sheer brutality of the Warhammer®40,000® universe. It features a multitude of merciless kill and death animations that were created in a state-of-the-art motion capture studio, utilizing military trained fight and stunt choreographers. The game combines these exciting features along with environments, weapons, and upgradeable characters which have been meticulously crafted by some of the industry’s leading artists.” On the same day, Hammerfall Publishing have released a cinematic teaser trailer for the Warhammer 40,000 : Chess – Regicide game, created by renowned cinematic studio Plastic Wax. Having created nearly every Warhammer®40,000 game trailer in the past decade, Plastic Wax felt right at home harnessing the game’s 3D characters to create a dramatic teaser trailer to announce the title. “We have a great respect for the Warhammer 40,000 IP, the many loyal fans, and Games Workshop” said Tyrone Maddams, Art Director at Plastic Wax. “We wanted to break new ground, and chose to create the cinematic using a real-time engine . It was important that we created a cinematic which not only represented the quality of the game by using in-game assets, but also does justice to the IP” Warhammer 40,000: Chess – Regicide combines the intensity and rich heritage of the Warhammer 40,000 universe together with the strategy and tactical play of chess. The game offers seamless cross platform gameplay with stunning visuals and high impact animations. Players can choose several factions from some of the most popular Warhammer 40,000 races; battling in both singleplayer and multiplayer standard chess modes, with an additional Blood Angels campaign mode which takes chess to a new level.
