I've joined on the basis that this is an Everton chess club, but I've seen very little activity for a number of years. Is there any plans to hold further games, or is this club in permanent mothball? Are people thinking, or have they already jumped ship to the official Everton chess club, who hold matches, what seems like a weekly basis. Sorry to start a post on a negative note.
Hello Everton fans!
I will use this forum to post daily match announcements, and League Rules and standings in the future. If you have any feedback or questions, please put them here.
Thanks,
Zayan
Hi everybody, I'm Mark Pearce. I am 62, almost 63, and have followed Everton for 52 years. First started following them in the FA Cup final against Sheff Wed when they were 0-2. Everton came back to win 3-2 and the rest is history. One of the most famous clubs in England, if not the world.
I am married to Lynne and have two children and two grandchildren. I have been on here, I guess, for about 8 years. I don't get as much time on here as I used to but do sign on when I can.
I enjoy creative writing, reading, most racket sports though not as active as I was once. I play tennis at a local club and in league matches. I am a volunteer in a local shop and also at the library.
Look forward to hearing about some of you.

I wonder what is really happening at Goodison. All is quite clearly not well on the pitch but also behind the scenes. Tales of Bill Kenwright being ill, take overs by Americans or some other such group are rife but information coming out of the club is scarce.
On the pitch Howard is out of form but our options are limited. Defensively we are poor at the moment. Perhaps Jags and Baines can improve things when fit but when will that be?
In midfield we look strong. But Pienaar, Ossie, Gibbo and Besic are always injured. McCarthy is a worry as he is carrying an injury. Mirallas seems to want to be away. McGeady is still around but surely we want shot of him. Lukaku is our main goal threat. What happens if he gets injured? Delofeu and Barkleyhave been playing well recently but their form will drop at some stage. Kone is in and out and perhaps not quite good enough.
What money is there available for a big money signing or two who could kickstart our campaign? Who would you want to see come in?
Thoughts and ideas would be gratefully received. Please address them to Mr Roberto Martinez!

On our main page, Likerol had an idea. He said that we could play our own group members to become more experienced and better players. Would anyone like to play with me? I am open for game challenges. If anyone wants to do the same and play people in our group, please post a message below. Thanks!
Support have advised that we need a forum to show the group preference. Please respond by accepting me as the new SA. Once done I will contact support again. Thank you. Mark
Despite the dreadful start to the season I dont think anyone should despair, our squad is shaping up pretty nicely. Name what starting lineup you'd like to see next season assuming everyones fit.
Mines as follows
Howard
Heitinga Jagielka Distin Baines
Bilyaletdinov Cahill Fellaini Arteta Pienaar
The Yak (or Jo)
Devout Blue, live in Tenerife but time my trips to the uk to get at least 2 matches a season in.
Any blues who fancy a friendly game and a chat/moan I am always up for a game.
Benfica on Thursday, are we on telly???
