Commit your works to the LORD And your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3 New American Standard Bible (© 1995)
Eight-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon wrote a letter to the editor of New York's Sun, and the quick response was printed as an unsigned editorial Sept. 21, 1897. The work of veteran newsman Francis Pharcellus Church has since become history's most reprinted newspaper editorial, appearing in part or whole in dozens of languages in books, movies, and other editorials, and on posters and stamps. "DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old. "Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. "Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN it's so.' "Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus? "VIRGINIA O'HANLON. "115 WEST NINETY-FIFTH STREET." VIRGINIA, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge. Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished. Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world. You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, VIRGINIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding. No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

"There is more between heaven and earth than you might think" (Shakespeare) _____________________________________________________ In the second century a.C. there came up a philosophical discussion about the sense of life and the right way of living. One one side were the Roman and Greek philosophers with their different concepts, and on the other hand the Christian theologists with their conviction that Jesus is the only answer to that question. Honestly spoken, I feel some sympathy for the Philosophers, often sharp thinkers as for example the Roman writer Cicero. For those clear-minded men it must have been an “offense” to believe that someone has risen from the dead. Whenever you have heard such a silly thing, they may have asked or thought. That sounds like a lie or a ferry tale! Indeed, it is really not easy to believe in such a “Fact”. Your mind could strike if you try. So, why could Christian theologists believe in such an absurde fact? Well, speaking for myself I only can say, that personal experiences brought me to believe in Christ. (http://deepwonderment.jimdo.com/ ) And therefore I could also believe his resurrection. And presumably the christian theologists had also made such personal experiences which gave them the power to believe. Nevertheless I`m convinced that besides that personal experiences there are also good logical reasons and arguments for the righteousness of the christian faith. I will try to sum up them in this blog. Continuation will follow
An engraving on an eye stone of onyx with an inscription of Nebuchadnezzar II[1] The Babylonian (today Iraq) King Nebuchadnezzar had one night a horrific dream. He was very terrified: So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king, he said to them, “I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means.”(Daniel 2) So they said to him: “May the king live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it.” This sounds logical, but not for the distrusting king: “This is what I have firmly decided: If you do not tell me what my dream was and interpret it, I will have you cut into pieces and your houses turned into piles of rubble. But if you tell me the dream and explain it, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. So tell me the dream and interpret it for me.” Of course, they could not : This made the king so angry and furious that he ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon. This dreadful situation became the hour of Daniel, the young Jewish wise man. Continuation will follow

A few days ago,i came across this lady saint "Theresse Newmann " from Germany while reading the book "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda of Bharat(India) who met her personally on his tour to Germany & confirmed about the miracle story that he had heard ! She suffered from a paralysis attack of her body & almost total loss of a vision at very young age !When all pathies were ended ,she asked for the mercy of Jesus through a Christian Saint when she recovered through all her illness & developed an extraordinary capacity of living without food or water & the stigmata -that is the wounds that were made on Jesus at the time of crucification which became as freshly induced on each Friday & which she carried through out her life ! When searched ,i found this you tube link about her :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtmRDGzflJw&feature=related
As a christian I`m naturally convinced that God is the driving power behind the history of the world. But can it be proved? Of course, this seems to be almost impossible. How can you prove someone`s existence and activity you can`t see? But also the activities of let`s say a bear in the Rocky mountains you often don`t see. But you can see his footprints and understand that he had been there during the night!?... So, in my opinion these "footprints" of God also exist in the history of the world. But you have to search them.
The finger shows into the sky! A hidden hint? An airplane, a bird , an ufo or something else? And who is it who gives us the hint? Oh, it`s Him Now I understand that sky and heaven are not the same! Good Easter Days!

So once a famous preacher came into our pentecostal church and his message was : God can change your life, your character! At the end of his preaching he gazed intensively into the great assembly: "Do you want, that He changes your inner life?" The answer came immediately and spontaneous:" Hallelujah.Amen!" could be heard from several places."God can do everything!" someone cried enthusiastically! Cheers were heard! "Yes, he can! God is great! Yeah" The preacher smiled:" Well, good to hear that you have faith in God and want an inner change " , he said and made a short pause. Then he continued: "But are you also willing to pay the cost for such a change in your character? Maybe there will come problems and troubles in your life, when God begins to work in you. Are you willing to accept this?"Again he gazed intensively into the assembly room. This time there was no Amen or Hallelujah. Only Silence! After half minute he said slowly: "Thank you , brothers and sisters, that you are so honest!"

Faust in his study Georg Friedrich Kersting, 1829) Part 2 of my analysis of the German Novel "Faust" ______________________________________________ Dr. Heinrich Faust, a German physician and scholar of the 19th century is sitting in ths study at night and thinking about his life. And the result is very frustrating: "Medicine, and Law, and Philosophy - You´ve worked through every school, even. God help you, Theology, and sweated at it like a fool. Why labour at it anymore. You`re not wiser than you were before " So he had turned to magic, and even had got in contact with spirits to solve the puzzle of human life: "I will know what the world makes revolve, its inner mysteries resolve." Heinrich Faust is a man desperately searching for truth and happiness. But can`t find it. I know this very well! There was a time in my life, when I took exactly the same wrong road downwards as Faust: Studies, Magic and Spiritism. And it went more and more downstairs ... At the end it was God`s mercy that I came out of the devil`s pit I told it in my story:http://mauerblume.de.tl/Under-the-Spell-of-evil-Magic-.htm

Part 7 of my short story: Fortunately Pastor John was at home. I was welcomed with a hug and a cup of tea. Then we sat down and he listened quietly and attentively to my story. When I had finished it, I was curious about his reaction. Would he say that it is nonsense? That I had become a victim of my “weak nerves”? Or had had a hallucination? But without batting an eyelid he said: “Well, this was really an extraordinary experience. But we can see in the bible that God manifested himself sometimes in the clouds.” And we started a short bible study according to that theme. When we departed I felt totally relieved and happy. Now I was sure. God really had given me an extraordinary revelation to stabilize my fainting faith. “But what about the 30 000 years-of-age and the C-14 method?” For a little moment I paused irritated. I had totally forgotten to ask Pastor John about it. But then I smiled: “So what? Let them find old bones of 100 000 years-of-age. I know that my SAVIOR is alive!” The End

The Call of Abraham 1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.[a] 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”[b] According to the Bible, Abram was a presumely 74-year-of-age man living a normal life with his relatives and friends in Mesopotamian Haran, when God talked to him in that way. Well, imagine for a moment you were the wife or a good friend of Abram and he would tell you: “Well, God has told me that I have to leave everything behind me and have to go in a country, that he will show me!” So we suppose you have a good day and do not react “normal”as: “So, God has talked to you to leave everything? Haha… Are you drunken? Are are you totally crazy now?” Perhaps you lean back, wait 3-5 seconds taking some deep breaths and asked then very friendly:” How did God talk to you?” Well, we do not know what Abram would have answered to this question. Perhaps: “ I had a dream!” or “I heard his voice!” or something else. We can read more than one time in the Bible, that men or women got a call from God. And the pattern is almost always the same. Someone is living his normal life not expecting something special. And the suddenly the Call of God breaks in and changes that life completely, turning it upside down. So it was with Abram! The Call of God was the beginning of a almost complete new life!

Faust in his study Georg Friedrich Kersting, 1829) _____________________________________________________ The most famous German novel is Goethe`s Faust, written by the German writer Goethe. The story shows that there is, in contrary to the Job-story, a great temptation to get in contact with the Devil deliberately. As my own story proves, too. http://mauerblume.de.tl/Under-the-Spell-of-evil-Magic-.htm The pact of Dr. Heinrich Faust with the devilish Mephisto and his late rescue is a really dramatic one, which gives deep insight in human nature. I will present and analyize it here Continuation will follow

Job`s Reaction At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. (Job 1, 20-22) Wow, what a reaction! That man lost all his children and his properties on a single day, and he worshipped! This shows an amazing degree of self-control and humility. Nevertheless, this is really not a “normal” reaction! A “normal” reaction would have been crying and the complaining ,”Why, God? Why me!”. Or just to keep silent in depression and grief. Sometimes persons loose their faith or confidence in God, when great suffer comes into their lives. “How can a loving God allow such a misfortune in my live?” is often the question. And there seems to be no answer! But from Job`s story we can learn that there may be good reasons beyond our understanding. As It is said in Jesaja 55: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. And we can trust that they are are good thoughts above us and good ways for us

Has Job fallen out of God`s grace? Job restored to prosperity by Laurent de la Hyre Prophet, Holy Forefather, 'Man of Patience' ( link from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_%28religious_figure%29) Again Satan came with other angels in front of God`s throne. And God asked him: "Have you considered my servant Job? … there is none like him in the earth ..." (Chapter 2 Verse 3) Satan knew that he had lost the “bet” with God according to Job. But he didn`t want to accept his defeat. So he said :… touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you into your face!”( Verse 4) And again God accepted the challenge, trusting and knowing his servant Job: “He is in your hand, but spare his life!” (Verse 6) Well, sometimes things are going bad. We are shocked, pray, trust in God …, but the things become even worse. So, are we fallen out of God`s grace? Do not believe this! He may take his protection from you or me for a while, but He will not take his grace from you or me. He may give you or me in Satan`s hand for a moment, but He knows already the outcome of this tempting situation. Remember what is said about Job in the New Testimony: You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. (James 5,11 according to the "New International Bible")

It happened on a normal day. As the catastrophes often do. Job was at home, knowing his children at his brother´s house, eating and drinking, enjoying life. And suddenly one bad message followed the next: 1. messenger: The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, and the Sabeans attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” 2. messenger: The fire of God fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you! 3. messenger: The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you! 4. messenger: Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you! This 4 horrible messages were delivered during only a few minutes. Job, the richest man of his time, had become from one moment to the next a poor man. We know from the first chapter that this was devil´s work. And it is very enlightening, how he does his work of destruction. He did it through men, fire and wind! So, it was not men`s evil hearts or the destructive powers of nature, but the devil who steered them . Astonishing, isn`t it?
