Bogoljubow vs. Alekhine, Hastings 1922 is considered by many to be one of the best games ever played.Dr. Alekhine thought that it was one of his most brillant games while Bobby Fischer called it one of the great Masterpieces. At move 31...c2!! GM Rueben Fine wrote " The point is Black must Queen." Irving Chernev wrote after Alekhine's devastating 31...c2!!that, " The point is the pawn cannot be prevented from Queening, and now a new phase begins." Another point is had not Bogo resigned Alekhine would have had four Queens, the other three he sacrificed.

~ Get enough members to play some matches. About 8 minimum should do it. The more the merier. As it grows we will also need some admins. ~ Grow the group and foster open chess dialogue in effort to help everyone get better at finding The Point in any given position. ~ Have fun playing and winning chess games! ~ Open Forum for positonal analysis of group and group member's games.

The Point will be a group that will play team matches. It will also be a meeting place for anyone that wants to get critical with their analysis. Openings, Opening Theory, Middlegame motif, endgames lab and tactics are strongly encouraged. Players looking to learn will have place to ask direct question and get direct answers that seek to get to the point. Stronger players looking to show someone us their point are welcome to come do so.
