10-Minute Vote Chess Playoffs

Here are the matchups for the Playoffs in Season 2:

#1 Chess Nuts vs #8 Light Force

#2 Burning Pawns vs #7 Chess Unlimited

#3 Super Troopers vs #6 Fast Players Group

#4 Animal Lovers vs #5 Red Army

It looks like we had 4 teams with 7 points (2-1-1 record).  2 of them made it into the playoffs, and 2 of them didn't.  If we didn't have the First Blood System, we'd be playing a whole lot of Tie-Breaker games (6 of them) and the Playoffs would be delayed almost 2 months.  There'd be another 4 Tie-Breaker Games if you wanted to sort out the rest of the playoff standings too (2 teams with 12 points (4-0) and 3 teams with 9 points (3-1)).

What is  First Blood System? 

In Vote Chess Games, if two moves are tied, the move that was voted on first wins.  Likewise, in the FSVL standings, if 2 teams have the same number of points, the team that scored their points first has the lead.  Chess Unlimited and Light Force made it into the playoffs by taking the initiative to schedule their games as quickly as possible, while my group, The Dark Knights, and Chess Empire got left behind due to their procrastination.

So Chessnuts, a very hard nut, awaits RA provided that we climb the Animal Lover hurdle.
