Since it was such a tremendously popular pick, we're taking the opportunity to "kill two dragons with one stone!" We strongly suggest not trying this with real dragons though...
November's official Chess.com Thematic Daily Chess tournaments: Quick Knockouts 2nd Edition (now rated!) will feature the Sicilian Dragon in its usual velocity. Here's the format:
- Daily Chess, 1 day per move.
 - Groups of 6 players, top 1 each round advance. If tied, all tied for 1st advance.
 - All games start from the Sicilian Defense: Open, Dragon Variation position.
 - Rating windows: U600, 601-1000, 1001-1200, 1201-1400, 1401-1600, 1601-1800, Over 1800.
 - Games are rated. Players are moved to the correct rating category before tournament starts.
 
With this speed, if the dragon catches up to you, at least you can try some dialogue!
November's weekly Chess.com Community Rapid Opening Roulette arenas will feature the Sicilian Dragon in it's accelerated form. Here's the format:
- Weekly arenas every Monday at 1 p.m. ET / 19:00 CEST.
 - 2 hours duration with a 10+0 rapid time control.
 - All games start form the Old Sicilian: Open, Accelerated Dragon Variation position.
 - Monthly prizes for top finishers in both Open and U1500 rating categories.
 - Games are unrated. Min 5 games played on the site to participate.
 
With this speed, if the dragon catches up to you, well, good luck!

It is time for us all to pick the November opening, to be featured both in the Rapid Opening Roulette and our Official Thematic Daily Chess Tournaments set to start late next month.
Here's how we structured the November Opening of the Month choices:
