Abusive words being used

I just don't like this people are just saying abusive words and are leaving chess.com in chess.com forums. I guess there isn't a feature yet to restrict abusive words in forums. Chess.com is highly applied to add this feature to avoid any abusive words. One thing more to say is that in game chat, people are using circle  typewritters to abuse. means they first take a font, and write whatever they want! Not only in forums, but on game chat, and in 4 player chess too.

Chess.com, fix this issue of abusive words.

Chess on.

Absolutely I totally agree the forums are messed up and chess.com needs to do something about it

They have a Safe Mode that you can turn on to disable communication

Stay away from the public forums

There are already filters for the forums and chats (live for sure)

But if there are some that make it past the filters, report them.

when you use abusive words writing it in your profile chess.com will not allow to post those.

its literally impossible to filter out every single possible way

no matter how good filters are they are always going to find a way, and more protective filters censor other words which is annoying seen on a lot of platforms

i havent had the issue of false censor except once on cc which is pretty good so its pretty much useless and it's not a kids site, chess kids exists for a reason

you are supposed to be agreeing to this when you sign up, a good chunk of the site doesnt care about swearing

Filters only work with what they have on the list. If something makes it through the filter, screenshot and report.

Use a ticket so you can attach the screenshot.

yeah but disabling communication entirely is like EXTREMELY ANNOYING

Very true, Safe mode makes Chess.com look like chesskid, because in chesskid there's only safe chat also your profile logo you can select only chesskid images, same with name, but here only comunication so ignore logo and name

Man this is the internet, either take the action to censor talking to people or don't. Just because lets say X word that you dislike is censored for example, don't mean people won't just find new ways to say the same word with different symbols, or combinations of letters to bypass it.

IE: if "Hello" was banned, "He11o".

Yes, chesskid is more appropriate, as you can only use emojis in the "chats".

f**k or something is another way

Exactly. Chess.com can't filter everything.

My advice to those kids out there: just ignore the abusive messages.
