Same happened for me. The badge was hanging there until I pressed "Clear All" button.
New forum topic alert is not cleared after clicking on it, if that topic was removed

You can clear it by clicking on x symbol appears right side of the alert. Clear All would clear all the alerts you have!
This is the temporary solution until chess.com fixes this bug reported by @Marignon.
It is a minor bug, but still.
In V3 there is a list of group activity, match, tournament, etc. alerts with the bell icon.
I am alerted each time a new topic appears in a certain group forum.
There is an alert about a new topic that has been removed before I've used that alert - I now wish to see it, click on the alert and I'm redirected to "Sorry, content removed" page. This is OK.
However, the corresponding alert is not cleared from the list of alerts - as it would have happened if that topic still existed.
It is likely that the trigger to remove the alert works only if the topic is opened, although the alert should be removed from the list when it is clicked, whatever is the outcome.
