unbalanced variants should be removed first.

unbalanced variants should be removed first.
if you mean variants with piece imbalances, they have other mechanics that are meant to conver the imbalance in material to an overall strategic balance. Just because one player has more pieces does not mean the game itself is imbalanced

To be absolutely fair, most of at least @qilp's variants are some of the greatest of all time in popularity; in addition, a lot of the time you do have to be among the best players and creators to become a CGA

It would be great to have a monthly statistics of the best variants, and thus know the performance of our creations.

CGAs haven't removed a variant since 2022 afaik, but I don't think variants are ever singled out and we usually have to re-evaluate the gameplay as well to see if it's purely a popularity issue or if something else is at play
