Analysis: explanation of move rating

Hey guys,

as a new player now playing a little bit with the analysis tool, it tells me when i make a good move, a bad move or an inaccuracy etc.

Is there a way to tell me why this move was rated that way?

For example i move a Knight to a certain position and the analysis tool tells me that this was an inaccuracy. It would be nice if it then would also tell me something like "it opens up your defense" or "it enables an attack on... " or "now your pawn is isolated".

I hope you understand what i'm trying to say ^^.

Translating the move into plain language automatically is a hard problem to solve from a computer science point of view, so don't expect that as a feature any time soon.  However, you can see for yourself the consequences of a given move by clicking on any one of the moves in the series of moves that the engine calculates as the best line.  By following this line multiple moves into the future you can see what the consequences of a move may be.  This takes work, but is the essence of studying the game and improving.

Yeah, awesome suggestion and as @Ajlion says, probably not too easy. However, what about allowing you to see the line forced by the computer so as you can see which would have been the best way or how the move would be punished?

Simply show the line following mistake up to material loss or checkmate.

Yeah, that's what i thought. But maybe there is a middle ground. For example @davidkaufmanns suggestion. That would be a step in the right direction. As it is now the +- rating is very cryptic for new players.

"By following this line multiple moves into the future you can see what the consequences of a move may be. This takes work, but is the essence of studying the game and improving."

If someday i might be better at the game then the best way for sure is to analyse it for myself but as a starting point in understanding material loss, position or the countless other aspects i need to be aware of i think a little help would be nice.

Thanks guys for your suggestions!

This would be the dream. For now, it's not possible. In the future though....
