Are netherite tools worth it?

I have a 1.19 world and I have full diamond armor and tools enchanted with level 30 enchantments thanks to my zombie Xp farm but I still don’t have mending so idk if it’s worth it upgrading to netherite because if the tools are diamond I can just fix them with diamonds and I have a lot of them but if I upgrade to netherite I cannot fix my tools anymore and I would have to mine extra netherite which is much harder to get than diamonds specially because fortune doesn’t work on ancient debris. So do you think I should upgrade to netherite? Or keep my tools diamond?

Also I spent 30 min mining for ancient debris and got 3 pieces which ain’t even enough for a single netherite ingot

neatgreatfire

get mending on everything

Of course I didn’t include armor because I do know that netherite armor has more armor toughness than diamond so I will be upgrading armor

I literally searched 1000 blocks in every direction from my base and found no villages so mending is hard to get for me

Search more or cure a villager.

If you do get mending then I reccomend getting upgrades to netherite.  But until then you may want to wait if you really have that many enchants on your items.

i have a mending villager so im good bro

Firebreather14

you can make a villager breeder and just keep making it librarian until you have a mending villager

Finneko1

Full diamond and full netherite provide the same amount of damage reduction (80%). However, each piece of netherite armor provides 10% knockback reduction. It is up to you whether that is worth it.

For durability differences, netherite seems to have about 40-60 more durability for each armor piece compared to diamond.

Netherite tools seem to have 470 more durability than a diamond tools. (I checked for Sword, Axe, and Pickaxe) (true of both JE and BE).

Also remember Netherite tools do more damage, which In my oppinion is worth the upgrade at least on your axe/sword.

Yes it's worth it. The 500 extra durability on the tools is extremely helpful, and the extra damage on the axe and sword is pretty good. To find netherite easier, make a sheep pen or automatic wool farm, invest in some shears, get lots of wool, and make tons of beds. Once you get into the nether, go to y=14, turn on chunk borders, and find the edge of a chunk border. Mining along a chunk border increases your chance of finding ancient debris because of how the generation works. Then just begin blowing up your beds(make sure to go a little bit further forward when you blow them up to make sure you're not wasting them)

As for armor, knockback resistance is helpful in many cases, and the extra durability will sometimes save your armor and allow you to mend them. The extra protection doesnt come in helpful a lot of the time, but whenever you live on a heart or half a heart, remember that you might've dead without netherite.

As for getting mending, search further for a village. It is almost impossible to make progress after a certain point in the game without a village. I would search at least 3000 blocks out in every direction. You can also use pie chart to see if there are any villages in render distance(same as fortress strats in the nether, you can google a tutorial. you will know theres a village if brewing stand, bell, or furnace pop up in the block entities part of pie chart)

If you really can't find a village, try to trap a zombie village in a boat and cure it, then get mending from it. The book will even be dirt cheap as a bonus.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Get mending before you upgrade your gear. Nothing feels worse than upgrading the gear only for it to break. Mending is a must have anyway, playing mid-late game is impossible without it so you're going to need it at some point

I’m in bedrock edition so I can’t know where are the chunk borders or open a pie chart :/.  Anyways I guess I’ll just try to find a village and get mending and if my world hates me I can just always go to chunkkbase

Thanks for the tips tho
