Bug: inappropriate message from chess.com upon withdrawing from Beta

Sort:

To avoid the recent formatting issue I withdrew from Beta. Chess.com then sent me the following message:

Wording other than "you were not actively participating" , maybe "no longer participating" would be more fitting.

Also upon returning to Beta I was not automatically added back to the beta club, even after logging out of the session and back in. I had to manually join the club,

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong or inappropriate about that message. Are your little feelings hurt?

He has the right to have his opinions -.-

It is inaccurate on 2 counts. Precision of language and incorrect information regarding automatically rejoining the club.

You didn't say "inaccurate" you said "inappropriate. "Precision of language."

I also considered the word "inappropriate" in the topic would bring out the trolls but at the moment couldn't think of a better choice.

And it also wasn't clear he withdrew from the Beta on his own. It read to me like he withdrew the quoted text from the message about being removed from beta. So it wasn't even clear in the OP that it was inaccurate.

The word "Bug" is funny and more inappropriate.

This catch 22 happens a lot.  You find a bug that makes Beta unusable.  You report the bug here in the Beta club, and then are forced to leave Beta to use the rest of the site.  You get auto-booted out of the Beta club, so you can no longer check the thread you reported the bug in.  You rejoin Beta, rejoin the club, but then you are hit with the bug again.  A bit of a no win situation.

I agree. The message says they removed you because you were not an active beta tester (not because you asked for it). It should say: we are sorry to see you leave the program. Feel free to come back if you wish.

MainframeSupertasker

I agree, jas.

Seems more kind. Also should include that you have been kicked from the beta club just so you know.

You've always had to manually join the club. That seems weird that it would say you would be automatically added back to the club.

I do agree the message could be better as well.

No change yet. Got same message again today.
