We have agreed that I am allowed to get assistance from an engine "TheWeirdEngine" that I myself have written and am still improving. It is allowed for me to use this engine in whatever way I want, it is allowed for me to improve it during this game, as long as I only use my own code and no other engines. @rychessmaster1 plays without computer assistance.

I hope that @Martin0 is willing to calculate a separate rating for the combination of me and this engine.

@rychessmaster plays with white

Enjoy the game!

Evert, it would be interesting if you added whether the move you make is from you or the engine.

Ok. This was me. In the opening the engine is too naive. It wants to activate asap.

Activate the Witch asap?

evert823

It optimizes for the total activity of all pieces asap, but I didn't like the first move it came up with

Interesting. Following.

Me too.

My intention was that I would be assisted by this engine, which also means that I am allowed to overrule it when I think it should be overruled. I tried to make this clear upfront. I thought this was clear. However, if it's not clear, let's quit this game now immediately.

evert823

I didn't intend a human player getting slaughtered without chance by a super engine.

I also didn't intend a hobby program getting slaughtered without chance by a very strong human player.

What I did intend was an interesting encounter. I know what the limitations of my engine are at this moment.

Or how about this

Make your move and tell me what the engines move was on every move

I support this. I'll take a look at some of the positions and keep notes if you do this, so we can talk after about which moves evert overruled and try to figure out if it was correct.

Martin0

I think it's best to keep games with engines unrated.

Yesterday I did a quick run (3 plies) and it favoured Wg6. I know why, because it counts the number of squares attacked by my pieces, especially more advanced squares, and Wg6 increases this immediately at the maximum since my Queen is already attacking f2. I myself don't like it. After f6, Bh5 my Witch is pinned. I have started a deeper run (5 plies) and in an hour from now I know what move it favours.

evert823

Again Wg6. The engine wants to play Wg6. But I really prefer g5.

evert823

If you want to play just only the engine, I can facilitate it. But my expectation is that it will be no challenge for you.

evert823

Yes sure I will do that.

1. e4   g5 (engine chose Wg6)

2. your move

evert823

A small FIDE game between me and the engine - to show you how it plays

evert823

It favours Wg7. I'll play it.

Thank you!

I think 1200 is generous. 9. Ndf3 is truly awful, even a 1200 player is playing Ngf3. I do hope to see it improve though. And of course I can't even create an engine capable of playing chess randomly, so I'm still impressed.
