Bulletin: Member Analysis Submission!

I would like to submit this game for analysis. The game was a 18 min with 10 sec increment (yeah, quite random lol).

I think the most interesting part is the opposite colored bishop endgame where a bishop sacrifice won the game for me. I think this is quite instructive for many players, of all ratings. Move 52... Ke7!? starts a sequence where white has to be very cautious. When I used Stockfish after the game, it didn't consider Ke7 at all until I forced it to, to which it first said "Nah", but later saw that as equal as well.. White's final blunder was the natural-looking 55. g7?? which wins a bishop but loses the game, due to a nice pawn-sac motiv.

The middlegame was summed up with a great and precise build-up for the attack, and a blunder when white was just about to crack... My 24th move, Be4, was made to get the bishop out of the way for my queen and rook on the f-file, and I relied on the pin on the knight. The bishop looked better on e4 than g6 and both seemed to open up my f-file. Stupid.

The variations I have proposed might not be of a good level, cause it's basically just me making semi-random moves after what I remember thinking from the game.

Have fun.

Thanks everyone for your continued submissions!

A reminder:

- we are NOT going to choose games with NO analysis by YOU given

- we are NOT going to choose games that have just a bunch of computer evaluations printed out

- we WILL choose game that have personal effort put in

I'd like to submit this game for analysis.  It was a G/45 that I felt was an instructive and interesting game.

This took a while...

I'd love a video on this game & how to play the semi-slav.

I got totally smashed but held my own for a long time against my much higher rated opponent, the famous International Master Jay Bonin (who I think has played more USCF rated games than any other player).

I would like to know how best to pose problems to a higher rated opponent & try to survive a worse position.  My position was bad after 10. ... Nxd5 instead of 10. ... pxd5 but I bet Carlsen would've been able to win or at least draw the game anyway.

Thanks for the consideration! :)  This was a G-30 by the way (25 minutes with 5 second delay)

Another game I played last night at the Marshall Chess Club against a strong player (2300 USCF).

The end is very sloppy but would love to hear opening ideas on this game & also how to play the endgame that arose (before I blundered).

Lot of commentary in the PGN.

Thank you!

oh that kid is really obnoxious.  He moved recently, and everyone was happy

Narz

Oh you know him?  He's the cockiest player I've ever played, yes.  I don't really dislike him for it, I find it kind of amusing.  He's just a kid & I've definitely played less likable kids before (and of course more likable ones also).

A tragedy, I ended up losing about 25 moves later when I'd simplified to queen vs two bishops & won most of black's pawns.

Probably I should've simplified trading queen for rook & bishop (though objectively 32. Qc7 was stronger) but I was reluctant to give up my queen.

I had about 15 seconds on the clock for the last 10 moves (5 second delay, not increment sadly or I easily would've won). I succumbed to the problem I often have of trying to consider too many possibilities instead of simple focusing on the ONE TASK of not getting my queen & king skewered. As it happened it occurred in the worst possible way where my king was in front, queen was lost & I couldn't even recapture due to an unlucky geometry.

In the game, with about two minutes left I played 26. Be3 which I thought was pure genius but turns out black could've simply taken the e-pawn & I have only perpetual (the capture of the e-pawn gives black the f6 so there's no mate).

I was so distraught after this game that I blundered the exchange for no reason (and zero compensation) against a 1200 player & was lucky to win after a long struggle (I won back a couple of pawns & had to play knight & 6 pawns vs rook & 4 pawns in the endgame).

I think I'm going to take a break from these rapid (25min, 5sec delay) events, some people excel in them, to me they're simply too stressful, even when I win.

My fourth & final game from last night (quite sloppy, gave away a dynamic game with ugly pawn moves in front of my king).  I was black.

Not really sure why others are not blowing up this thread.  A chance to get your game analyzed on chess.com is a blessing indeed.

This game, alas, was another G-30 I lost & doublealas because of the rapid speed I was unable to write down the endgame moves.  It was a typical time scramble, probably slightly worse for me as I allowed his pieces to penetrate more into my position.

I was very happy with the way I played the opening but as often happens I was unable to push the opening advantage into a middlegame advantage & slowly felt myself slipping into an equal position (and then in the endgame I blundered a rook & lost, sadly that is not included).

Probably this is not the best game to show unless someone is interested in the Grand Prix attack but just thought I'd throw it out there since there aren't too many other contributors (I know Roman likes Sicilian's with g6 & knows alot about Grand Prix, though he recommends the other line).

Thanks for your time & consideration.

Ben_Dubuque

My submission.

Even though I won I hardly understand the middlegame. I thought I was just pushing my pieces around without a purpose, as I didn't see a concrete way to improve my position or weaken my opponents, Then My opponent walked into a queen trap and we entered an interesting endgame that I really don't understand other than I avoided losing in it.

this game also left me completely exhausted mentally, is there any way to combat that?

Narz

Game vs Majur Juac.  It was short, I ended up resigning way too early.  Someone I got thought I was losing a piece when in fact I wasn't.  Very strange & bizzare, I'm not so weak I should have such a hallucination.

My problem was with the opening though.  I started to panic around move 17, feeling my pieces were jumbled & just didn't come up with the right plan before that.  The computer still says my position is fine, slightly better even but after a few moves I managed to get myself into a much worse position.  Any advice appreciated!

I don't think 4.c5 is the best move. I'm surprised black didn't play 6.d6.

Narz

4. c5 isn't the best move probably but its not terrible either.  Occasionally this line will transpose into a c3-sicilian.

I played another game with this line last Saturday (in an unrrated tournament) and managed to win (the final moves not recorded due to time pressure).  I don't know my opponents last name or rating.  He's a 'street player', I've seen him around Union Square.  My experience with most of those guys is that they are not actually that strong outside of 5 or 3 minute games.

majahitterking

This game is entertaining because a double-edged attack decided the issue amidst a major time scramble.

It was an 10-min blitz game in which both sides had to make a lot of difficult decisions with very little time on the clock. Black could have gone for a simple positional game but instead went for excitement and fireworks! Here is the game with commentary.

Exciting game? Routine? Boring? Level too low? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
