cheating

what is the benefit for those who are cheating the games? let them cheat, since this online games just for fun.

I disagree, cheating ruins the games for everyone, while cheaters are gonna cheat, at least trying to curb it  keeps it from taking over the site. to let them cheat with no regard to penalty, the games lose meaning

                             Dear Sir, I couldnt agree more with you, this is, or at least should be, a gentlemans game and that implies a code of honor. That we would even have to debate this underlines the crass vulgar age we live in.

The Poets that created the game we love would literally be appalled by this behaivor, as for me personally, I find it disgusting. I have especially encountered it most recently and in most cases its the lower rated players who are doing it, not that it matters WHO is doing it.

And yes it most assuredly affects the "meaning" of the games, what can be done I do not know but when I suspect its going on I immediately send the player a message in email format or in the "chat" column of our games.

If the STAFF cares enough, they will take measures to enforce it, and I for one intend to write them regarding said issues.

 

I agree with you we have  to fight against cheating. 

But we have to be carefull with accusation. a good performance is always possible. Particullary with chessboard we can open to help to calculate moves, that i often use to check my calculation.

We must find a just way to find cheaters. 

I think the best was to stop cheating is to befriend the cheater enough that we can identify why he/he cheats ( not that we are psychologists ). Sometime cheaters cheat because some people point out what a weak player he is or what a loser and such. That's why I'm always polite either at the end of a game or during chat. Another obvios reason is a low self esteem. The last one is pure evil ( not like killing someone of course ). I took the time to write this hoping for the best of all chess players on this site. Please don't think of me as an excuse maker for bad behavior because I'm not.
