Player have rating elo 1001 and under 18 yeard old. He play 90 games per month (first game 8:00, second game 12:30, third game 17:00) every day three games to FIDE rating. He play with players who have elo over than 1400 and win all games. 1001 + 90*36,8 = 4312. Can he have rating 4312 (!) the next month?

Can someone please explain how FIDE can possibly award a tourney to any country that does not allow everyone who qualifies to even enter the country, and still call it a World Championship?

Sorry about the language difference but thes are great films of you and many people have seen them.
A few minutes ago, I played this game, and was extremely frusterated on move 7 (because pof move 6). I was overly happy, though, by the end, because I managed to cool myself down, then try to rip his head off. Don't tell me where I went wrong; The entire opening was wrong for me.

World Champion (163-9) Armenian GM who in his prime was as near to unbeatable as anyone in the modern era. He gradually crept up on the WC, finishing fifth in Candidates tournament of 1953, and third in the 1956 and 1959 events before winning the Curacao Candidates tournament of 1962 with a typical score of 8 wins and 17 draws to earn the right to challenge Botivinnik. Despite a six-year reign, he never won a major event outright as champion. His defeat of Spassky in the world championship match of 1966, however, was the first time a champion had beaten his challenger since the Alekhine-Bogolyubov match of 1934. Petrosian's predilection for short, energy-saving draws and his deep positional style made him one of the least exciting and charismatic of the world champions, but his highly developed sense of danger and strategic mastery earned him a unique respect among fellow grnadmasters.
bitter rivalry between Korchnoi n Karpov left unhappy memories, but Korchnoi di have the satisfaction of inflicting the shortest defeat in Karpov's career. Black could even have resigned at move 13 ... and Karpov resigned.
Hey Everyone. I thought this is a good place to ask my question. Recently, I concluded a FIDE rating tournament, where I played five FIDE unrated players in the first five rounds, and in the last round I played a FIDE rated 1773 player. I drew against him to get a record against FIDE players of 0.5/1. I know that to get an initial rating, I must score one point. However, must that one point be scored in the same tournament? Any help towards getting my head around this would be appreciated. My final result was 3.5/6.
Hello all members I am a Frenchman that lives in Canada. so, sorry for my English, it is my second language. I will post, from time to time, 2 types of Puzzles: Exercise and Puzzle. The exercises are designed for low rating players. some will be very easy, some a little difficult. My aim is to give some basic background. The Puzzles are more difficult than the exercises. I think the intermediate and high players will like them. If you have any suggestion, I am open and I will do my best to answer it. Gnafron
this is my understanding of how one gets a FIDE rating. The titled players here can expound upon this and clarify if my info is incorrect. HOW TO GET FIDE CHESS RATING If you didn't have a chess rating yet, then you are known by fide organization as unrated. Being unrated doesn't necessarily mean you could not play chess well. It simply means you haven't participated a single fide chess tournament. Getting the fide chess rating is as easy as participating one fide recognized chess tournament. It sounds quite difficult at first. Maybe it is for those who are new to chess and who are unfortunately very unfortunate to beat at least one game against his fellow rated humans since winning a game against apes & unrated not counted. The requirements for getting fide chess rating is as follows:1. Play fide recognized tournament.2. Complete minimum 9 games against fide rated players (game against unrated not counted) within a year.3. Score at least 1 point from rated players. If you fulfill the above requirements, your name will be published in the next fide rating list along with your rating. The list is published 6 times a year (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sept, Nov). How to know where you stand Chess level is divided based on the skills of the player. Compare the table below to know where you stand based on your rating.Rating 2500 above = Grandmasters (GM)Rating 2400 above = International master (IM)Rating 2300 above = Fide master (FM)Rating 2200 above = National master (NM)Rating 2000-2199 = ExpertRating 1800-1999 = Class ARating 1600-1799 = Class BRating 1400-1599 = Class CRating 1200-1399 = Class DRating 1000-1199 = Class ERating 800-999 = Class FRating 600-799 = Class GSuppose if you get your first published rating as 1654, then you are a class B player, not bad to start. If you get your rating as 679, I am sorry change your hobby, no offense. If you get your rating as 2000 above, wow!! your an expert. Put serious study, you may become a master one day. If you get your rating as 2014 and lose 16 points after that, your rating is now 1998. You temporarily stay as an expert and went back to class A which sometimes happen to both lucky/unlucky, both male/female. Rating is an estimation of the player's strength based on his/her performance against other rated players. Depending on win/lose/draw, it increases/decreases.
