Chess and Music

I like to listen to Classical, Jazz, and Concert music while playing some good chess. I play on a real chess board, that's when I listen to music. I plan to get back into live chess in 2026!

Christian music, because its my religion

But i usually dont listen while playing

If it is blitz, I listen to Forrest Frank, but turn it down so I can barely hear it (so it doesn't distract me )

I love music! I almost always listen to music when I play chess. But I would say most the music I listen to is distracting like rap, electronic, rock, soul, pop, whatever genre it is other then one jazz. I have found that when i listen to jazz I don't play better but i also don't find myself getting wrapped up in the music. Recently some of the jazz artist's I have been listening to are Grant Green, John coltrane, Art Blakey, John Zorn, Charles Mingus, Nala Sinphro, Ornette Coleman, Pharoah Sanders just to name a few. But rencently i have been heavy into rap and soul thats why my pfp is Marvin gaye and i can't stop listening to anything by westside gunn and jid's new album god does love ugly is phenomenal.

I only play music while playing Blitz, usually listen to calm music from different artists. But some Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran is great every once in a while

I like listening to lofi for locking in for just playing casually, maybe Christian

I listen electronic phones like memory reboot, moonlit or sudno by vøj or molchat doma

I've enjoyed playing the new album by Rezz, As the Pendulum Swings while playing. I don't listen to music very often while playing chess but when I do it's usually EDM or Classical.
