Just like last time all game links and report of results for CSC 2013 round 2 should be done in this forum. Note that one group will contain 3 teams when still only 1 team advance. The team to the left at the games is supposed to be white and white is responsible to send the challanges (although you may also send challanges with black if you want)

Hey Martin0 how come we have to play the same opponent like in Round 1?! Okay we are in a group with 3 where just 1 is advancing but can we play with different opponents this time. Our group was deadly in Round 1 containing both teams with the best rating and we still manage to advance and now we are playing again with the same team? There must be something wrong!

The pairing system I'm using is similar to chess.com tournaments that doesn't take that into account, but ok I can make a small adjustment, I think it is more fair that way.

Now I have changed the pairings to prevent the same teams to meet eachother again. I reordered the 3 lowest rated teams and I hope noone mind. Feel free to start sending the challanges

Martin, first of all, many thanks for your time in making the tournament interesting and challenging to us. However, in the future, you may consider that teams that were first in their groups in the 1st round do not knock out each other in the 2nd round. For example, there are groups above with two teams that were second and groups with two or three teams that were first in the 1st round.

A simple way to do it could be placing the first in a group of the 1st round together with the second in a different group of the 1st round. This will facilitate the two strongest teams in csc making the final. Only an opinion, in any case we are very grateful how it stands and how you have brought all together, it is a terrific piece of work!

Hi Martin, Can we to send challanges now inested of 9th August ? or we can start it...... 

@mkaalam, 9th august is the deadline to send the challanges and I encourage everyone to start sending the challanges now. The same goes with accepting the challanges, 23rd August is the deadline to accept, but I encourage teams to accept as soon as possible.

Martin0, you are doing great job, and I thank you for that! But what arturoski meant is that teams that finished first in their groups shouldn't be playing in the second round eachother. It probobly be the best, since we have 4 1st teams, 4 2nd teams and 1 3rd team, in the Second round to meet 1st teams against 2nd teams, not 1st team against 1st team.

I see, well I thought I should go exclusively with ratings and ignore how many points they score or what place people are at when they advance. One reason for this is that I could not see if Dan Heisman Learning Center will place first or second since they haven't completed their last game yet and I don't think it makes sense to assume their second place for example when making the pairings or if we would have to wait for that game to finish until we start the next round. The standings aren't fair either since all teams haven't played the same amount of games.

It's not hard to implement, I just decided to go exclusively by ratings, just like chess.com tournaments does with the addition that I will prevent the same teams to face eachother. Whatever people think is best these pairings will remain for this round, but I could sort teams differently before making the pairings in the future (if people think that is preferable).

Thanks, Martin, I understand. I was just thinking of other team competitions consisting of groups and several rounds such as champions league, olympic competitions, world championships or other tournaments where teams getting 1st in their group in their first round typically get an easier draw as a reward in the second round (i.e., meeting the 2nd team in another group in the knock-out stages). This is done regardless what rating (or seed number) each team was at the start of the competition.

Ratings can be misleading because I think the ones taken as reference are not calculated chronologically (I.e., some team could have got new highly rated members in their team, obviously launching their performance, but they could be dragging a poor rating from old poorer performances. Unfortunately for them and even if they were doing great in CSC, their relatively lower rating would give them a hell of a draw). It is not common practise to change seeds in every round and therefore, for the future, I would like to suggest the pairing in CSC in 2nd and subsequent rounds to be chosen according to their performance inside CSC and regardless other factors outside CSC (such as how well they did a long time ago, which obviosuly will alter their rating, but it is not too relevant to decide the best CSC team in a particular year).

Anyway, whatever final decission you take, chapeau to everything you are doing to make our lives more entertaining! We are happy to participate in any format

@arturoski, I pretty much agree with everything you are saying. I haven't given it much thought since I'm unfamiliar with those formats and wanted to make something similar to chess.com tournaments. It won't make a big difference for CSC 2013 though since all remaining rounds have only 1 advancing team.

In Round 2  The Friendly Knights Not Send The Challnge even They can not Accept The Challenge From HORSEMEN & WOMEN , Intresting Thing they Have 4 Super Admin and 9 Admins 

I changed a typo, it was writtened The Friendly Knights in game 9 and 10 instead of Dan Heisman Learning Center. I'm sorry , but team USA must remake the challange (and remember to cancel the game challenge to the friendly knights).

In the next round I will probably make the pairings some time before the round starts to make sure mistakes like this are prevented.
