EL2010 R5a Germany vs Russia
+
Team Russia vs. Team Romania are already playing a match in World League Round 5 http://www.chess.com/groups/team_match.html?id=38028, that should count as EL R5b match as well according to the rules of WL and EL.
Yes, Eugen, with one condition
quote:
Note! Any matches that are ongoing in the World League between the teams will automatically be counted as games within the European League as well.
However, if both teams agree upon that are they allowed to setup new team matches and counting them instead.
And Romania does not agree with that. We like to play chess, it is the goal of the competition site. So we expect challenge from Team Russia, ASAP
Team Romania has not yet received the challenges from Team Spain and Team Russia.
According the rules of EL 2010, Team Romania will send these two challenges,
to allow in as many players to join.

The Rules in place are allowing a WL game to be counted for EL. However I would suggest for the next season to change this rule: "Already finished or currently ongoing WL2010-games within the World League OPEN CATEGORY (that fulfill the team match settings) will be counted as EL-2010 games, if both teams agree upon."
I am pretty sure Team Russia will beat everybody every year, but I would still want to have the pleasure of competing with them, unless both of us agree on not playing one more game.
Dear Stepan, (Massaraksh)
To hide behind an absurd rule is not fair !!!
If Russia is happy to win under such rules, it's her problem. The winner is decided to match directly, with no semblance of competition.
And I think that in such circumstances, Romania will refuse to play against Russia.
We like to win or lose the game board, not by subterfuge.
So we prefer to play with honest teams, not run away from direct confrontations.
Regards, my friend.
