So a royal queen? Isn't that similar to coregal chess? (both queen and king are royal)

Also, how are you supposed to checkmate a royal queen? You'd have to smother it, then check it with a protected piece or with a knight. It kinda makes the game unplayable

I always wondered how Rookmate made it into the Variants Server

So the queen should have a limited number of lives - this is becoming rookmate already.

Honestly, I don't think the person who made this forum thought it through - maybe they were thinking of a game of points or other variant that could allow checkmate easier, like atomic, or limited lives - similar to 2bHNST's idea, but it just seems too basic of a variant to add.

checkmate is very hard in the mid-game and practically impossible in the end game, so the exact idea offered would not be plausible.
