One of those rare occasions when your opponent plays one of the lines you've learned in your opening study.

Not my best, but I pulled out a win in a funky little endgame.
I think the knight sacrifice was unnecessary, otherwise well played ![]()
Do I have plot armor?
WHAT AN ABSURD PULL!! Fantastic. *thinking this...is...SPARTAAA vibes aloud*
Also I guess that's one of the many funnies that splits us 1500s and 2000 apart, I'd totally have given a useless check here without a single thought, just for my horsee looking cool there. ![]()

I really wanted to play that too but I had to resist as it did nothing more than check him, I was worried he would sacrifice his rook for my knight and pawn. At the end when he mouse slipped I instinctively captured his queen. I would've offered a draw but he resigned before I could stop laughing. "Plot armor" because I was on a winning streak (something like 9, 10 in a row)
80 moves ending with checkmate. Well done! ![]()
Had a very nice win over a 2030 rated guy just now! I played this game on my local club's account, therefore I am posting it via the analysis option. I'm still learning the Open Sicilian, so in the meantime I play this fun aggressive Grand Prix type of Anti-Sicilian. Though my opponent misplayed the position quite quickly, I am still happy how I shut down his counterplay with c4 by playing d3 and b3. I am playing White.

You destroyed a 2000, you're probably gonna hit 2000 this week
Thanks! I want to make the push for 2000 soon. Haven't played on chesscom for so long due to elo anxiety, that games will probably be +20 for a win and -20 for a loss lol.
This is the best game I have ever played. 3 brilliants, 1950 game rating somehow, and 84 accuracy.
Beautiful tactical game. Congrats!
Damn I feel happy about this game, I took some time to deliver checkmate because I had to triple check the knight was just pinned and that I wasn't blundering anything. Such a pretty finish

Really nice game, against someone 200 points higher rated as well. You can get to 1800 in a month!
thank you!! I'm very experienced on italian game positions so that usually gives me an edge too, kind of compensates the rating difference. Hope I get to 1800 this year! My original goal was 1600 but I guess I'm already at striking distance of that ![]()

Definitely, good luck!
Overall the game was rough. But after 50…Kb2 black offered a draw, probably thinking of just shuffle my queen back and forth. But I followed some advice I got from Coach Dane and tried to look for the “so what?” move. The biggest threat for white here is black promoting. If they promote, they’re attacking a hanging white queen. But white also has a great looking rook up north! I figured out that if I let white promote, I could get my rook in the game and tag-team the black king with the white queen. I actually missed a quick checkmate, but the way the game played out was exactly what I calculated. Fun stuff.
