I think the rule is that if a mod posts a move and then plays a different move on the board, the posted move is binding, not the played move, so you do need to be careful.

Correct. Maximum 3 warnings. 4th time is an immediate loss.
After move 40 the 3 warning limit is reset, but we are only on move 12.

I'm really sorry, I know it sounds like more excuses but I have exams wednesday, thursday, and friday. If I do lose by forfeit I apologize, but I'll try my best not to.

If you are busy, you should consider using vacation time and focus on your studies. Ideally I think playing variants online should help you relax during breaks (noone can study all the time), but if it feels like a distraction or your worried about losing on time, then it is probably better to just use vacation time and come back once you are done with your exams.

you’re totally right, using chess as a sort of in-between time is usually what i do, but in this case i completely forget i’m even playing a game on this site 😂
