Guess the Chess Player #1 !!

c)
Capablanca
this was the game in which Marshall tried out his gambit 8…d5!? with Black, but he lost to Capablanca (11…c6 is now the mainline and deemed the most sound/effective)

Sorry. I literally just realized that the answer had already been put.

Lol np we are all just guessing
the OP technically hasn’t answered it for us yet
so yeah anyone can guess/answer

I don't know many historical games, barring a few like gold coins or opera game
My guess would be lasker

Ok so the answer is Capablanca, congratulations to @Cocoa_ButterScotch for being the first one to answer, and @InfiniteBlunders for giving a detailed answer. Yes, it was the game in which Marshall tried out the so called "Marshall Attack" as black in the Ruy Lopez, and the opening is played to this day at the super GMs level. 2nd part of this series coming soon.....

Persuade me why we should preserve this forum.

Alright, so here is how it works. You will be showed a game, and will be asked to guess the player either playing with the white pieces or the black pieces. You will be given 4-5 options from me. Ever correct answer will get 3 cheers!
So for the first one, guess the chess player playing with the white pieces!
Options :
a) Emanuel Lasker
b) Alexander Alekhine
c) Jose Capablanca
d) Frank Marshall
(This is the first time, so it is a pretty easy one. Also, this is a pretty famous game. Pls do not take the help of some other sources lol)
