Help wanted for developing new Ahab Chess variant!
In the test games, is there a referee in order that no ones can cheat the royal king?
P/S: I want to play an Ahab chess w/ you!
There can be if you want. You could just both message which piece is royal to a neutral third party who’s a member of the club. I’ve just been playing on the honor system for test purposes, since all these games are for study and not for competitive gameplay.
how to cheat
I played some Ahab chess F2F w/ my little brother. If my royal gets killed, I'll change. That means our games finish when one of the colour is removed all!
P/S: I know my brother also cheated!
😆
Well, that’s why when I play over the board, I use a piece of tape on the bottom of my royal piece.

But my game with my little brother is very interesting, that we traded strong piece and then final ending is decided (because he or I only have pawns) lol. Can you open a game w/ me?
Hey guys!
A month or two ago, I proposed an idea in the main Variants club called Ahab Chess. The basic concept is that at the beginning of each game, both players choose one of their pieces to be royal without the knowledge of his opponent. The goal is to find your opponent’s royal without having him find your own!
Immediately upon posting, I got a lot of really positive feedback, and I also found another member @arctevious_the_3rd who independently came up with an idea very similar to mine, and we decided to team up and work together to develop Ahab Chess. But we can't do it alone. We need your help to test this variant! To that end, I created a new club:
https://www.chess.com/club/ahab-chess
If we ever hope to convince the Variants Admins, CGAs, and developers to include Ahab Chess on the Variants server, then we'll need lots of strong data, a definite set of rules, and a decent amount of interest and involvement from the variants-players community. So please join the Ahab Chess club in order to play test games and give feedback on the rules!
Thanks in advance for joining and helping us out! If you have any questions, you can ask in the comments below or in the Ahab Chess club.
