Game is paused!
I just realize that the Builder in this position gives too strong an advantage for start position. I will be replacing it with the Lumberjack! @Pootzies, please do not make a move until I fix this

Thank you, @Pootzies. And, good luck to you as well. ![]()
(Now, I thought for sure you were going to laugh and comment on the mint-chocolate aspect of this board, but I guess it was only funny to me. lol)
Before I make my next move,which I have decided on, do you consent that the Ball and Barrier (Rook-related pieces) can Castle with the King?
I think it will benefit us both. ![]()
(It's not expressed in the rules. But, players are allowed to come to a consensus on 'modifications' at the very beginning. Though, I will admit, the Ball's modification (play without Roll-around-board rule) wasn't exactly a consented choice. That was the gamehost's dictatorial decision.

edit - I have replaced the Builder with the Lumberjack. Unfortunately, the Builder will cause my b1 pawn to capture Black's b7 pawn, thereby giving me an obvious unfair advantage. Surely, Black can retaliate with the exact same on i-file. This doesn't seem like a good game start; certainly isn't a deathmatch game.
With that having been done, I will now make a new move for this new board:
1. i2-4
Wouldn’t the angel make that b1-b7 capture impossible?

Oh, shoot! You know what? I totally forgot about that!!
Somewhere in my brainstorming and rebrainstorming the start position, that did come up at least on a fickle.
Ack... I guess the original start position with the Builder wasn't all that bad after all. heh Oh well.
We can always use the Builder in your HoneDog game; if you choose to have one with me or another player.
After your match, I mean.

So the lumberjack can choose which direction it pushes a piece into? I thought it was only the direction opposite of where it moved from.
3. Nd6
It's a new concept for a special ability, really: Knockback. The Lumberjack knocks back all orthogonally adjacent enemy pieces. Those enemy pieces move 1 square orthogonally in the same direction from which it relates to your attacking Lumberjack. (In our example, your pawn on e5 relates to the enemy Lumberjack on e4 in that it (your pawn) is one rank higher. The knockback would cause your pawn to move one more rank higher; or, rather, one rank lower in Black's view.)

Invented by @Junebug444
(L) - This piece moves like a Queen and cannot jump over other pieces. The Lumberjack also cannot capture an enemy piece by landing on the square that the enemy piece is currently occupying, though the lumberjack can be captured normally. The special ability of the lumberjack is that wherever it lands, all enemy pieces that are horizontally or vertically (not diagonally) adjacent to the lumberjack get knocked away one square in that direction. If the knockback square is occupied or is past the end of the board, the piece is captured.1. i2-4_______________________________________________________1... e7-5

Ahhh apologies, thanks for the clarification
Of course. ![]()
I gotta say.... I put some very powerful pieces on the board. I think I turned this board into a deathmatch. (You know, a tiebreaker type of game with high material points....)

Wait what? I'm not sure I understand. If the lumberjack moves to e7 its checkmate? wtf this piece is insane
A move to e7 or d8 is checkmate, yes. Your King is at the edge of the board; that, and your Werewolf occupies f8. If your enemy Lumberjack moves to e7, that will knock your King off the board. If he moves to d8, that will Knock your King against your Werewolf, which will knock him (King) off the board.
So, actually, I didn't realize any of this until I moved it on the board myself. I'm going to not request draw but offer to adjourn this game; due to my unfair advantage over your nescience of the pieces.
For the reboot HoneDog match, you can choose the pieces.
Unless you'd rather play on.
Up to you.
Welcome all to a HoneDog match , played by opponents @BattleChessGN18 and @Pootzies. This match was created at the request of @Pootzies, as a practice match for his/her upcoming Round 2 game in RandomDog Tournament #1.
Mint: BattleChessGN18
Chocolate: Pootzies
Bulldog variant pieces have been randomly selected and are as follows:
Assigned the empty start squares in this match are the Angel and Builder Lumberjack; aligned in 180-degrees opposite configuration. Replacing the Queen is the Werewolf. Replacing the Rooks are the Barrier and Ball, respectively.
Modification: The Ball's Roll-Around-the-Board rule does not apply to this match. (All other special abilities do; including the Barrier's Forcefield.)
Rules of Bulldog Correspondence apply to this match. (Exception: this match is untimed; there is no 3-days-per-move maximum. Contestants may post reminder "waiting for move" or "waiting for board" every once so often.)
Outcome of match will be reported back to @Martin0 for rating adjustments.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will typically render diagrams after 1 pair of moves (1 Black move, 1 White move); though, as many as 2 pairs of moves (black-white-black-white move) can be made without a diagram. After that, please call "Waiting for Board" or "WFB".
Diagrams will reflect a pair of moves at a time.
Diagrams will be primarily rendered from the perspective of Black's view (@Pootzies), although secondary diagrams in White's view (@BattleChessGN18, host) will also be provided.
Good luck, Pootzies! =)
