How many boards?

I would like to propose that teams communicate to the opponents how many boards will they have so we can know how many players, in addition to the ten titulars, keep committed.

Not sure it's realistic for every club. A lot of players just show up on a whim in my club.

I agree as most of the players in our club are juniors.

Although út is good idea but I agree with @JamesAgadir, that it is not realistic.

At the same time with more rounds played you can scout on your opponent and estimate how big team they bring.

At least the teams should confirm that the minimum number will show up. And then tell, whether there might be more players ready (approximately), to give more players the opportunity to play and not only the strongest...

This could be agreed before between the teams.

I can confirm in our last two matches, between myself and the opposition captain we confirmed approximate numbers in the lead up to the match with final numbers on the Friday evening so as to ensure everyone gets a game.

I think everyone is agreeing that communicating what you know, or don't know, is a good starting point.

It's a pity but some clubs are here just to represent the minimum 10 in the match and don't want to show up more and encourage their juniors to play, just titled players... That's not about spirit of the game
