Message sent to Mr, Grant (Clubs League tournament director)
Hi Grant!
I must admit that we as Ukrainian team are very disappointed and frustrated because in CLUBS league there is still Russian team taking part. Right now devastating war against Ukraine is going on and whole real world already showed their attitude and sanctions against Russia. Team Russia and all teams from Russia has been disqualified in all sports throughout the world including chess. Russia should not be tolerated everywhere. By letting Chess School Etud still play in Clubs League you encourage Russia still doing their brutal job.
Please advise whether this team will be still part of Division A Quarterfinals, otherwise Kyiv Chess Club should withdraw
Best regards, Admins of Kyiv

I've read through the rules, and I overall like the format, and props to @GrantOen for organizing this!
My only rule change suggestion, if it is possible, is G5 (https://www.chess.com/news/view/clubs-league-season-2-rules) which indicates that if there is a tied match, 1-1 for rapid and blitz, then the higher seed automatically advances.
I'm not a huge fan of it because if the higher-seeded team wins the first match, why should the lower-seeded team show up for the blitz section? Just not my preference, but I guess it does make sense, that the lower-seeded team has to win both segments.
My preference would be maybe combining total scores of rapid and blitz at the end. It would also give remaining players an incentive to win their games even if the rapid or blitz segment is locked up.
Just a friendly suggestion, but not a big deal. You are welcome to agree, or disagree!

Hi, my team, the Waco Chess Club is looking for some preseason practice matches to be played in October. Our available days (tentatively) are October 10th, October 17th, October 24th, and October 31st, which are all Saturdays.
We are a B-team. Mainly looking for other B-teams, but, we played in the A-division last season, so we can compete with A-teams as well. DM me if you're interested in some practice. Also, feel free to use this thread to look for your own practice matches. Thanks!

Quick question. I plan to put my team in the B-section. We were in the A-section last season. I will probably be able to bring 10-12 players on average, so my lower-rated players may not get very many opportunities.
Can some B-team admins chime in, and estimate how many players they plan on bringing? Just wanted to gauge how many of my players might get to play. Thanks!

I'm attempting to issue a challenge to https://www.chess.com/club/san-gabriel-valley-chess-club for our Division B daily match. Their club name does not come up in the "Club to challenge" parameter, and i therefore cannot issue the challenge.
i'd previously issued a challenge to a similarly named club at first, until another admin pointed this out to me. I presume he has had similar trouble issuing his challenge...

Hello,
I am going to write a blog about this league and the teams, so if you post your club's logo, it will be better for me to write the blog.

I would like to propose that teams communicate to the opponents how many boards will they have so we can know how many players, in addition to the ten titulars, keep committed.

I sent a challenge to our opponents for our match on Saturday, their admin can't see it.
I'm trying to open the challenge, but cannot access it...

Here's a first version of a clickable map showing all the teams in Division A (red) and Division B (green) around the world:
https://www.mapcustomizer.com/map/ExeterPrez-ClubsLeagueMap-Version1
All the locations have been based on the city / town descriptions on the public group pages, and/or a quick Google - please let me know if the dot for your club isn't quite correct, and we can adjust for version 2!
