Paul "gambitlover" Keiser wrote that I believe. I usually just play 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6. Paul is a great lover of unorthodox openings, so I suppose he doesn't mind playing against 1.Nc3 d5 which is fairly common.

I wanted to ask some experienced Halloween Gambit players how they play the Halloween Gambit. I read in the Unorthodox Openings Newsletter that 1.Nc3 is the easiest way to achieve the Halloween Gambit because black has fewer ways to deviate. Your opinions?
