I wonder if it's the same concept. Can someone confirm or explain the difference? If it's not the same, will the CAPS score be available once you've implemented the new tool?
I'm interested in knowing the difference too. I know what is CAPS, instead I don't know what do you call "accuracy" in the new tool.

Well, what we are looking for is some sort of comparison between the accuracy in chess.com analysis reports and CAPS.
To be honest I find both to be too opaque to be much use to me. Perhaps that is my fault, I am not sure.
Ok thanks. So will CAPS be available to all members or, if I can see it, it's because I have a Diamond membership?

I can see it and I'm not diamond.
To be honest too, I don't like CAPS, I think average difference it's a better indicator.
Thanks @jdcannon for your answer.
You can'y see CAPS unless you have a Diamond. That's what I'v been told.
I mean, in the new analysis tool, if accuracy is the same that CAPS, then I can see it, because I can see Accuracy.
"average difference"? Where can I find it?
This is from your last finished game. I see it in spanish, off course, but as you can see I've marked the "Def. media" = av. diff, for you.

Average difference can be good indicator but not in all cases. For example, if player opts for Q capture and doesn't go for 4 move mate (or anything similar) it will impact greatly on avg diff. Main "indicator" for quality of play is % of best moves. This is real percentage of T1 moves (best more is the one which doesn't lose any centipawns when compared to T1 move in given position).
What is the average difference?
It is the difference between the choosed moved and the best move (T1), measured in centipawns, taking the average of that difference for all the moves.
I think the use of the two indicators is needed. In some moves the difference between the best move and the second (T2) or thirdh (T3) move is minimum and if the move played is T2 or T3 it doesn't add to the % of best moves, but it's well measured by the average difference. But now we are off of topic.
