The same issue has been occurring for a couple of days using Chrome Version 64.0.3282.186 (Official Build) (64-bit) on MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3. This is now occurring on both of my Macs.
Images sometimes not loading.

We have a team on this one working to figure it out; refreshing should fix it for the moment.

No worries. Issues like this are a serious pain to figure out. Refreshing helps most of the time.
When you inspect the page in Chrome that does not load properly, there are 404 errors for the images:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()
The images are not found. This is the location given for the error: https://images.chesscomfiles.com/chess-themes/boards/null/ 91.png
[as an aside, do you know how annoying it is to paste a path when you want the path to the file and not the image that it gets converted to? lol]

Action: When I click a daily game to play, the piece images to not load sometimes. I need to refresh a couple of times, then if that does not work, go to the home page and select the game. Sometimes I need to go to a new game, then come back to first game that did not load properly.
