Play as both White and Black against yourself. For blindfold play, use your school tie to cover your eyes. Announce each move verbally, record the entire process, and upload it to YouTube. If someone replies to the video, continue the match using the same blindfold method until the game ends.
hey man I said this is for fun just take it like that way only and have fun while U play

Title : Improving at tactics (Tips)

What are some ways to train in tactics that you could share ? If it's puzzles, discuss ways of solving them. (Idk if this has been posted)

Hi there! 👋

I’m a member of the Improvers Club and I’d love to contribute something fun and engaging for the community.
I’m planning to start a “Finish the Chess Quote” game, where I’ll post famous chess quotes with some words missing, and members can guess or fill in the blanks.
I think it will be a great way to inspire and challenge players while sparking some interesting discussions.

Would it be okay for me to post this in the forum?
Thanks a lot for considering! Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
@SPK1729

@SPK1729 I believe that for fun the chess riddle forum would be enough. This might distract others from the main goal to improve.

Hi @imraghav2013, thank you for your response! 😊

I understand your concern about staying focused on improvement....it's definitely important. My thought was that a small, fun activity like “Finish the Chess Quote” could actually complement the learning process by keeping the atmosphere light and engaging.

That said, if the riddle forum is the better place for it, I'm happy to post it there instead. Just wanted to bring something fresh to the table and contribute in a positive way.

Thanks again, and I appreciate your perspective! 🙏

That's a nice suggestion, perhaps it'd fit best in the Chess.com Community club though!

Hey @Wind, how about a thread dedicated to one opening, where players can discuss its various lines, attacks, counterattacks, and traps? Would be great to focus deeply on one opening at a time and learn all the ideas around it together.

I reckon a community-made blog series by multiple people would be better. Since the opening would be exclusive to that forum or require changing to avoid becoming inactive and redundant for all except one opening.

@TdsFan1600 I see your point and I agree that a community made blog series can be really valuable. But here's what I’m thinking. There are already lots of blogs that cover different openings. What I’m suggesting is a focused deep dive into one opening at a time, where we explore all its main ideas, traps, counterattacks, and variations, really mastering it together as a group.

For example, if we start with 1.e4, we could go through Black’s best responses like the Sicilian, French, Caro Kann, Pirc, and even less common ones like the Dutch or English Defense, one by one. That way we stay focused but still cover a wide range of lines.

So even though we're concentrating on one opening base at a time, it wouldn’t be boring or too limited. It could actually make learning more effective and organized. What do you think?

no, there is an openings forum already.

That would be good, yeah. I reckon, if it was done, it would be: One forum for e4, one for d4, both for black's and White's responses.

Setting short-term goals: Setting weekly or even daily goals to help keep you motivated when you feel like the results are coming fast enough.

Avatar of ragibites2013

Maybe not an entire FORUM for that

I have an idea. We can create a forum for EVERYTHING ELSE. wanna share a puzzle? go ahead, wanna share some new info you got? go for it!

I just achieved 1 of my improver goals for the year, 2000 in rapid!

Obviously I’m now over the moon but it got me thinking… in that final game I was playing somebody just over 2000 by no means the strongest opponent I’ve played or beaten before but because I knew I’d break my rating threshold I was incredibly nervous and made some silly mistakes. Elo anxiety comes in all forms and whilst caring a bit helps drive improvement caring too much can have the inverse effect. I think a forum on Elo anxiety and mental preparation for a game would be beneficial for players of all strengths.

Avatar of ragibites2013

All of this can be covered on the ask coach/community page so no point @Ziipyyy

Maybe a forum where people can post bad things (tilts, losses, blunders) and the community will help them
