List of known bugs

Please don't post bugs to the club notes, they are going to be lost and forgotten there. Also, you cannot add screenshots to the notes.

When you report a bug, please:

1. Tell us what browser you use.

2. Describe what you did.

3. Tell us the game number (where applicable) or, at least, its date.

4. Show some screenshot(s) (where applicable).

5. It is also very helpful if you can include a copy or a screenshot of your browser console log: Ctrl+Shift+J (or Cmd+Shift+J on a Mac).

Using literally all the browsers I can think of, arrows rarely work in teams, even after refreshing. Same goes for the team chat. You can send them, but you don't recieve anything from your partner. Chat works if sent to everyone though

You randomly lose a point in FFA after a win sometimes (only tested in chrome)

Partner's Queen has jumped 1 square after my move in teams (chrome)

After the game ends, all messages sent with a prefix of '/all' in a teams game show the '/all'.

And the castle bug still exists through the knight in FFA last I checked

Let's say red king is on h1. Where is the knight? What color is that knight?

Are you sure you have seen this bug in the new version released on 7th of August?

@BabYagun I'm not sure if it was on the new version or not. Sorry. It was certainly in the last 2 or 3 days though.

And the bug works by castling queenside without moving the queenside knight, and the rook will travel through said knight

Thanks. I tested it now. A king cannot castle through a knight in the new version.

@tommerrall949, we fixed arrows in Teams today. So, arrows work fine now.

This is fixed too. It was a rating display error. The calculation was correct.

Can't reproduce it, sorry. If you'll see something like that again, please tell us the game number and move number.

I have also experienced this bug, but with a knight instead of a bishop. I was the only player experiencing the duplicated piece and refreshing removed it. I did not notice when the piece appeared and no idea what might have caused it. Did you notice when the piece was duplicated?

FFA -18591!?

My King was captured but still i had a chance to move a piece, then checkmated.

I am invincible that time.

zugzwang, this is on me. i just fixed a bug that was showing ## instead of # when a live king is captured (## is when two players are mated on that move). i did test it but obviously not enough.

fixed it now, will update soon

about the shadow pieces. it has to be a bug within the browser. it's hard to trace as i've never had it myself

was the phantom piece a pieced that used to be on that square, an somehow remained or reappeared there after it was moved?

meanwhile, if it happens again, reloading the page should fix it. (if you have time to capture the browser console before reloading, that would be most helpful)

I think it's worth noting bugs when they appear. For a while, the random system found me 3 players, but nothing else happened. No names appeared and the game itself did not start. It repeated several times.

The Invincible/Invisible King strikes again

Not sure if you've gotten around fixing this bug but I just spectated a game where a players king was captured but the pieces remained alive, he wound up winning unsurprisingly, which was unfair to the other players. please, send help.

i've updated now.

funny story: one of the games in progress was not restored correctly after the update, popping up an "illegal move error". after some digging i realized that a king had been taken in that game, and since the bug was now fixed, the player's moves after his king was taken became illegal

@iChessRooke4 you wouldn't happen to remember the gameNr or any of the players in that game? we will refund the rating lost in such cases.

#24440 Shadow-bishop appeared : After my partner took a Green bishop with his Blue-bishop (f14 a9), a blue copy-bishop appeared just next to it (close to the corner). Next player went on. And when it was my turn all my pieces were locked / frozen
(and my time expired).

most of the time my game automatically disconnect in between the game and when I try to reconnect by refreshing, it loses all progress. 

As mentioned in the first post of this topic, a solution is:

"if this occurs during your game, try clicking on |< or << (or use arrow-up key), then jump back to the last move (>| or >> or arrow-down key) .

or reload the page."

@c_jain, what is you OS, browser and browser version? Do you have any browser add-on's enabled (like ad blockers, etc.)? Do you use VPN?

when 3 kings are remaining on board, game doesnt end. Even, after one of queens eat one other (the one that left), 2 players remain only with kings so game never ends unless one resign.

another one:

I I just checkmated red, right after blue left the game and game didnt end. my time started decreasing but i was unable to move my piece. a few seconds later my time stopped decreasing and game just frozen. ELOs didnt change.
