Do you play music whilst playing D&D and if you do is there any particular pieces of music that you play?

We never did, but I think movie soundtracks would work quite well... Like the Hans Zimmer pieces from the last two Dark Knight movies.

Yes they'd be good. Talking of the Dark Knight films we went to see the Dark Knight Rising last Saturday and although I thought it was really good and thoroughly enjoyed it, I think the second one, The Dark Knight, was better.

We always played music and one of my favourites was Vangelis' Heaven & Hell.

i experimented with atmosphere music for a little bit...you know mostly relaxation sounds- waves against the beach, crickets in the woods, rain on the plains type music but that tended to put players to sleep...on occasion we would put in some heavy metal while putting character sheets together or pre-game preparations but the music stopped when the game got goin

We always played some sort of music no matter what we were doing, be it D&D, chess, Mahjong whatever. Generally we'd play some prog rock but quite often I found that classical music went quite well, something like The Ride of the Valkyries or Carmina Burana. Mostly the music was in the background and not too intrusive, however it was surprising how often we would suddenly notice that the music fitted in with the game situation.
