I actually am noticing that as well, there are a lot of "don't mate the bot" or "mate the bot to enact chaos" sort of variants. Obviously I am not giving a vote purely based off of that, but the more variants in a category, the more a new variant of that sort will need to be unique.

Why would red not immediately give check? The Royal General has no time to get out due to the way Chess.com implements N-check.

The wazir on the checking square is immune, that means that the royal controlling it must be mated in order for the square to be "unlocked" - that's basically the essence of these types of games.
