so what if I keep the king as the Royal? I still have to remove a Bishop because a king worth 3 points?
NCV Idea (You can steal)

Not an idea that would be on high priori for developers but somewhat interesting nonetheless.
Also I don’t recommend asking people to steal your idea

I should better get to work!

I have this very good new idea for a variant. It is a variant where you have to checkmate... not the king. At the beginning of the game each player choses which piece their opponent will have to checkmate. This piece cannot be the king. You should all remember how much each piece is worth:
thats not chess
and both = 3
= 5
= 9
You then choose which pieces you take off from the board. You have to take off 2 more points than your piece to checkmate (PTC) is worth. The PTC will be marked as an orange piece for white and purple piece for black.
Examples:
1. PTC: Queen for white, but no pawns, and the h rook for black but without the g and a pawns and the light-squared bishop
2. E pawn for white but without the a pawn, and the dark-squared bishop for black, but no light-squared one.
P.S. the first one to type which AI bot won the Game Arena chess tournament gets to use this idea.
