New Analysis Depth

I was wondering how even accurate is the new analysis feature that we have? I like a lot of what it does, but it analyzes the entire game in like ten seconds, which is far faster than even the 'quick' setting we used to have. Could there at least be a setting where we could make it deeper, or just as long as we remained on the page it went around and around getting deeper and deeper? Would this be feasible? Thanks.

I like the idea.

I agree, it would be good to have multiple settings like we used to.

I agree, there should be all the 3 options( fast, deep, etc) for analysis that we currently have under non-beta mode, apart from the new analysis on the beta mode. There should be an integration of the two features.

I have done some homework on this. It was about "8 ply" according to Studio C, and they are "considering" making it higher. They also dropped the number of lines from 8 to 3.

But you can go to the next tab over and use the main lines and set it to something like "30 minutes" instead of "5 seconds" and then do it the old way.

I say give them 3 weeks and see if anything has been updated.

The Full Analysis is done on a cluster of backend engines at depth 20. The game is split up amongst these servers so it crunches the entire game at depth 20 very quick.

The engine properties on the settings modal don't affect the backend analysis, those apply to the client side only analysis which kicks in when you make a variation that deviates from the mainline (or doesn't exist in the provided variations of the deep/full analysis).  We've talked about making those setting preferences come across in a clearer way, stay tuned.

20 plies depth can make very wrong results in many endgame positions.
