I fully support this!
"NEW" forum post vs "EDIT" forum post
Hi @Jonani!
To underline you can select the content and press CTRL+U (or cmd+U if mac). Also B for bold and I for italic.
To properly edit the forum post, aka OP, instead of clicking the edit pencil icon you have to go to the menu on the right and click on Edit Forum Topic.
But yes, on writing a regular post there are less tools. As a workaround I often leave a temporary news or forum topic open on a tab just to do more advanced editing when needed.
@Wind Thank you for your fast and detailed reply! It was very helpful! ![]()
I was unaware of the features of the Edit Forum Topic selection. I have never clicked on it before.
Although sometimes I feel like I may ask "silly questions", they can sometimes turn into a great learning experience, not only for myself but others as well, which I think happened in this case.
Glad to be of help!
Also @Jonani I fully agree with your vision on questions. "You never lose when you learn." ![]()
@venus What @Wind mentioned was if you go here (see picture below) you are able to have access to the original edit options as you did when you first created a forum post. I think this resolves what you meant in your last post regarding "editorial tools"?

Glad to be of help!
Also @Jonani I fully agree with your vision on questions. "You never lose when you learn."
@Wind That is quite a clever quote!
I like inspirational and motivational quotes. They can be helpful to give you an extra boost of energy when you're feeling low. Whether it's life in general, personal relationships, work, etc. they can really come in handy sometimes.
If you create a new forum post you have more options to underline text, as well as adding a background colour, among other options, whereas you do not have these features available if you go back to edit your forum creation.
I can understand not having some of the tools available for people who are replying to the post, as too many colours and different options could become a bit distracting and/or confusing overall.
On more than one occasion I have created a forum post, then went to make some changes and was not able to because some of the original options that were available to me were no longer there. The only alternative I saw to easily rectify this was to delete the post entirely and create a new one. I find this to be time consuming and unnecessary.
I believe you should have the same tools available to you if you need to edit the original forum post, as you did when you created it. See pictures below as reference.
