New idea (checkmate value) / to dramatically reduce FFA cooperation

why are people trying reduce teaming just play solo
You've played 461 solo games, me: 1520... So I do not think this remark applies to me.
I do play Solo, and I do play FFA, and I love both.
I believe that in FFA there are some fundamental flaws that people do not like. Hence some suggestions I try to make from time to time.

I'm pretty sure for beginners opposite cooperation doesn't even exist so this method wouldn't really be needed for them lol

YES you are right, but when they see 2 sides who cooperate nicely, they believe they're screwed and report and make a lot of fuss, etc. (yes I also was doing that, 3 years ago ). So you see what I mean
, it's would precisely be GOOD for them in fact.

None of these ideas regarding manipulation of the points for checkmates make the cooperation aspect any less relevant. It will be simply understood to adhere to the same cooperation tactics without actually mating the flanks, i.e., leaving them with only a king for example but still alive. I'm also with DSM in that I don't understand why the teaming aspect of ffa needs to be changed. The transitioning strategies that take place from one stage to the next in high rated FFA games is what makes the game so appreciable.

Grathieben, OF COURSE the cooperation will remain (it's induced by the very configuration of the board), but 90% of its most shocking aspects would disappear.

I mean, after you cooperate and give your cross a 40-50 point bonus with a bunch of pieces left, you basically have to play for 2nd
Hello friends,
a) as of today, in the 1st stage FFA not to cooperate means to never win (with normal side players). cf. https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/basic-ffa-aspects
b) some proposals have been done how to reduce teaming, for instance here:
https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/ideas-to-prevent-teaming-in-ffa
We've had a lot of discussions about that already (whether a mate should be valued 20, 3 or whatever). I think a NEW IDEA should be tested.
What if the value of a checkmate depended on the material of the checkmated player still left (plus 1 for the king itself maybe, or even 5, I don't know)? In this case, an early mate (typically an assisted mate) would be valued something like 40-45 (!). So as no reasonable player would agree to offer such an advantage to his opp', that would clearly eliminate the assisted checkmates in the first 10 moves. The cooperation would become much more a non-agression pact, with no more scenario like "2 agressive guys s. 1 unfortunate guy and 1 silly non-helping idiot".
What do you think about that?
I'm pretty sure that would solve 90% of the problems that make currently FFA often unpleasant especially for beginning players, and would make the play much more subtle.
