3. Round

Marignon

Dear colleagues,

I will be busy and unable to access any PC tomorrow, that is why I publish 3rd round pairings today.

We have a lot of forced paired matches this round - and this is not because I want to trick, but because I want to let teams better prepare for matches.

The matches valid for 3rd round of our tournament and scheduled to start in May in other city tournaments are:

Cities world cup:

CWC 5 final match:

Budapest-Zagreb (open) https://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=657804

CWC 6 1/8final matches:

Moscow-Bucharest (started tomorrow) https://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=654342

Tabriz-Hastings (open) https://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=658614

Team Babylon Team St. Petersburg  - not yet open

CWC 7 participation round:

Grad Nis - Sydney NSW - not yet open

European Cities league:

Bordeaux -Yerevan - not yet open

Toulouse - Yekaterinburg - not yet open

These matches are/will be valid for both OCS and CWC (ECL) competitions. There is absolutely no need to create extra matches between these teams.

I also have two important remarks:

1) Team  Kerajaan Benteng Siliwangi  has no admins now. I doubt that they can start any match, but still have a full month to try.

2) The match Yerevan - Milano was not started in the previous round. I suggest that it can be started in May, because both teams are active and there should have obviously been some misunderstanding.

In round 3 the match settings should be:

Match name: Open Cities Swiss 2016 R3: Team 1 vs Team 2

 Starting Position: Standard

 Days per move: 3

Players per team: 5

 Concurrent games per opponent: 2

Start time: 09 May 2016 09:00 AM PST

 Games are Rated

Please, post match links in this topic.

Hello,

Could Drujba - Ekaterinburg please create and send the challenge to Toulouse Occitanie ? Our admin is afraid to mess things up, since it went wrong against Moscow on the last round...

Thank you !

We would like to play a new match with Zagreb in this round! Can I send the challenge or they have to do?

Marignon

If Zagreb does not want to play another match, they do not have to.

Bland_Joe

Where is it in the rules?

Bland_Joe

This is not normal if one match is counted in 3 tournaments. Don't you think, really? Why do we make then more tournaments? We had registration problem against Zagreb some days ago, so we want to start a new match with them here. No rules against this. Are they afraid of playing a new match with us? Or what's wrong? The fair solution to make an own swiss match now. Budapest can accept only this way. If it is impossible, then I will ask my team about this situation, and probably we will decide not to play in this tournament.

This is not true of course:

6. Any two participating teams scheduled to play in WCL playoffs or CWC Participation round can be forced-paired to play each other in WCOS to avoid excess match load if:

a) Their match by CWC/WCL schedule is set close to WSOS schedule;

b) There is no more than 1 point difference between their current standings;

c) Admins of both teams do not object to such suggestion.

ON THE BASIS OF THE RECENT RULES WE CLAIM OUR WIN IN THIS TOURNAMNET AGAINST ZAGREB, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT ACCEPT OUR CHALLENGE.

Dear Joe, I have not seen from you any objections before the match has started. You did not object.

Your discontent is revealed now only because you are currently at a disadvantage.

By accepting the matches from other tournaments, I try to help teams to better prepare for the current matches. If you'd have to play both against Zagreb and against another strong team during the same 1st decade of May (and did not get the expected result), you'd blame me for that.

If you think that you can do better, I suggest that you step in to produce pairings for round 4 and on. I'll send you all files you need for it and promise other help (as much as I can).
