An interesting opening that I still play (and works) is called the Scotch Gambit.
This may seem like a dubious choice, especially for someone as high-rated like me (1937 USCF), but I was able to get a quick, early game advantage against many opponents.
Here are some interesting lines that can occur:
Feel free to look deeper into this if you wish, as I'm sure there were many lines that I missed.
Hi! Sorry that I gave you a heart attack on the last one. But here is some openings I would recommend!
White:
1. e4 Most players play this. It gives you a great, dynamic position if you play:
The Ruy Lopez
So if you look further into the Ruy Lopez, you have good improvement and positions that you can play very easily.
The Italian
The Italian is like the Ruy Lopez, but a little different.
1. d4
The Main Line
1. d4 is a dynamic line. It is great for attacking.
Black:
The Sicilian Defense! It is a great attacking opening and has some advantage of the bishop pair.
The Sicilian Defense has a lot of use, but it depends on what line you use.
That's all for this time! I'll be making more of these. Feel free to give me feedback! Stay Tuned!
