Poll: Who's taking the constructors? (plus race + constructor's report)

By the looks of things, the constructor's championship will be in a dead heat by the end of the season! After a race to remember, we saw Sainz, Verstappen, Piastri, Norris, and George Russell all in contention for the win before Lewis Hamilton himself prevailed in the end. Hulkenberg brought home P6 for the second time in 2 races for Haas, and Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso took home a double points finish for Aston Martin after a tough few races. Alex Albon brought home P9 for the second time this season and Yuki Tsunoda rounded out the top 10. Honorable mentions go to Logan Sargeant in P11 and George Russell who unfortunately had to retire with technical issues. The real shock in the end was Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc, who were both lapped and failed to get close to the points. Charles later said that he "doesn't know what to say anymore" and Red Bull boss Christian Horner said that Perez's failure to get above P7 in 6 races (with no points in 3 of those) is "unsustainable" and "he knows that".

However, what remains to be settled is the constructor's standings. Here's the 4 teams in contention:

Red Bull: 373 Points

Ferrari: 302 Points

Mclaren: 295 Points

Mercedes: 221 Points

Red Bull, with Verstappen, has been on a charge all season, winning half the races. But increasingly other drivers are catching up, and the last 3 races have only produced 1 win. Checo's aforementioned points drought is also beginning to hurt them, and can't continue without significant effects. That said, they have a healthy lead.

Ferrari's drivers are both 3rd and 4th, 4 points away from each other. Charles Leclerc has finished 4th or higher every race... until the last 4, where only 10 points have been put on the table. Carlos Sainz has only been out of the points once this season (and that was a DNF). That said, they need to work on consistently closing the gap to rivals.

Mclaren has Norris in a strong 2nd in the championship, and is Verstappen's most consistent challenger. There have been few times where he's beaten his friend so far. Both have been very consistently in the points, but tend to find themselves in 2nd to someone else often. That said, they've closed the gap to Ferrari at record speed.

Mercedes had a rough start to the season, and their drivers sit 7th and 8th. However, over the last few races, the tables have turned and both have scored over half their points in just the last 4 races. If this momentum can be sustained, they'll be the most consistently scoring constructor and a real candidate for the championship.

So, who's taking it? Give your opinion below!

I don’t think Red Bull will be able to sustain the lead with how things are currently looking for Checo, and I don’t know if Mercedes will be able to gain enough points to rival for the lead (even though both drivers have a win this season unlike all other contenders except Ferrari), so based on that it should be either Ferrari or McLaren, and I’m a Ferrari fan so bias goes to them

It will really come down to Checo or Oscar, if Checo can prove his worth, then RB wins it, if Oscar steps up even just a little (like 1 race win), then McLaren have it. If neither happens, then I believe Ferrari will take the constructors, unless Mercedes has an incredible stretch of re-dominance

NEW UPDATE:

well, Oscar has proven his worth, as well as McLaren getting 43 points for the 1-2, cutting a decent portion of Red Bull’s lead. Even though Lando was told to basically let Oscar go and win, it was still great to see Oscar there in second for McLaren to “give” him the win. Can he win on his own compared to his teammate? I don’t know, but he seems like he can. The downside, however, other than Lando being angry, is that this is less points for Lando to win the individual championship, so Max should be slightly happier about that
