Depending on how they manage the ratings, I would be happy to do it. I'd just need to know if they calculate it manually or using a program. And what system they used for it if anyone knows. I'm assuming we'd want to keep it the same if there are players with established ratings already.
RandomDog tournament #1

This was the last posted rating update. There are more players with established ratings that were inactive at the time it was posted. Too lazy to check how many of them are playing in this tournament.
This is how ratings are calculated: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/bulldog-calc-table
Thanks for the info, not sure if I can create graphs but I can certainly have a leaderboard using text..
For example from the picture you provided:
1. captaintugwash - 1889
2. HarshSaberTwitch - 1686
3. JustARandomPatzer - 1634
4. Marks1420 - 1553
5. comradM - 1502
6. musketeerchess2017 - 1481
7. evert823 - 1349
8. 1e4c6_0-1 - 1201
I know that anybody can do this and I'm not sure if you guys want the graph as well but if not I'm happy to do this.
How would my rating be calculated as I don’t have one?
From reading the forum. All players start at 1200 and then it would be calculated using the point differential from your opponent
Hi everyone
I'm new here and I wasn't able to fully understand how this club works from reading the pinned forum. Could someone please explain.
Basically this club is for players to play bulldog chess or other similar variants via forums without clogging up public forums. It also serves as a directory for new players seeking information
Thanks
I finally understood the rules, so would anyone like to play a bulldog chess game with me? ( with the standard extra pieces, guard and witch)
I'll be happy to.
I'll get one started either tomorrow or the day after (Monday, Pacific Standard Times). Today, I'm mainly focusing on my music composition submissions. Prep for hopeful entry into grad school and all.
Of course, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's available to do so. If any of the other veterans would like to take that place before I get to it, that is totally fine too. Just a bit of a fair warning: I'm going to render in 3D diagrams, which many newcomers are not accustomed to seeing. Initial experience by most is that the 3D diagrams are just a tad bit hard to see. Most of the contestants who play on them today have grown used to them. It's really your choice which diagrams you would like to use.
(I couldn't render the regular 2d diagrams anymore, since my board editor has stopped working on my end. The few 2d Diagrams I displayed have been copy and paste.)

Sure. I don't have a problem with 3D diagrams. Also, you can just choose who gets the white pieces.
I'll play one with guard and witch with you if we can get a board manager. Maybe BCGN will help
If we can play with two players at once, then I would like to play with you too if @BattleChessGN18 ( I'm assuming that's what BCGN means) can be "board manager".
@KapitalP_Prio, would you like to keep the Queen as it is, or would you like to substitute it with the Werewolf or the Lumberjack? Also, are there any pawns that you would like to switch out for a Bulldog? Alternatively, would you like to keep all your pawns and place 2 or 4 Bulldogs in front of them at the edge- and second-to-edge files? Finally, would you like to Switch out one or both of your Rooks for the Ball and/or the Barrier?
Or, would you prefer no modifications and leave it simply as the Witch and Guard? ![]()
Just the witch and guard, please. I want to play at least one game before getting into the more complicated pieces.
I just realized but I've never played a bulldog game with the witch and guard ( only with different faerie pieces)! ...If anyone is interested I would like to play one too.
In my personal opinion, the Guard seemed more of a 'filler' piece when it was first invented; that the original Bulldog variant initially sought to promote the wonders and mysteries of the Witch piece (Transparency, to newcomers, was something of a curious and grand inspiration in itself!), and then there was simply nothing else to fill the other empty square at the time.
This became the default Bulldog configuration, and I think because it was played so regularly, everyone eventually grew to not mind it (the Guard piece).
Heh, that was my fun little spiel. ![]()

@Pootzies, I have a casual request for you. Since you're already playing a HoneDog match (with me), would you mind if @VM_LeaderAbjyudaya was @KapitalP_Pro's opponent instead? If you still want to be the opponent (after all, you requested first), I can make that happen, too. Let me know if you're okay with this.
Hmmm.... That's a good question. I don't have the skills to do it. Someone will either have to take over... or the first day he/she comes back, we're all going to have to hound @Martin0....
Relax, folks. I'm totally kidding. We can bring it up to him/her nicely.
