Nope. The rating changes are always on steroids. It's like FIDE ELO, but with the k-factor always being 100.
I know there are better rating systems out there with varying k-factor, but it is kind of fun with all games having such a big impact and it does compensate for games lasting a very long time.
This is the table of rating adjustments used to calculate bulldog chess ratings and chess on an infinite plane rating. Only exception to this table is that you can't lose more than half your rating in one game, so if you are rated 1250, the most rating points you can lose in one game is 25
( (1250 - 1200)/2 = 25).
