I mean it says in the message, you gotta turn on beta to be in this club. If you do have beta on, idk what to tell you
removed from Beta club???

Click the blue link highlighted in the message. That will take you to enable the actual "Beta Mode", which is required for participation in the club, and likewise membership in the club is required to be part of Beta Mode. They're tied together

I've been a Beta member and a member of the Beta club for over a year. I realize the two are tied together. That isn't the problem.

well that's exactly what the message you were sent seems to indicate? that you aren't a part of the Beta program?
If you are still certain that you are members of both the program and the club, then I'm not sure what the problem is, maybe some weird glitch

Leaving Beta causes Chess.com to issue that message. I posted a bug report back in Oct 2019: Bug: inappropriate message from chess.com upon withdrawing from Beta
However the message text remains confusing and misinforming.
Given the current Club overhaul issues, leaving and returning the beta can be a more frequent action for some beta users. Maybe chess.com will finally improve the poorly worded message.

If I had not been a member of Beta, I could not have been a member of the Beta club.
You can, for a short time. You can join the club and post while not having the setting on, but you will be removed.

But if he had the setting on, as he says, why was he removed?

I can't say for certain what may have happened without knowing if the setting was manually turned off somewhere in that range and/or the club was left temporarily. In that case, it's possible there was some lag somewhere seeing the change and the code not double checking status before the actual removal.

I turned off Beta membership for a few minutes a few months ago, to see whether or not a bug was Beta-specific... other than that, not even once, and not today or five times today. I'm being booted from the Beta program, not just the club. Anyway, here I am trying again (I like Beta), having rejoined both, again, about an hour ago... we'll see, I guess.
I was removed from the Beta program for "not participating". Since I've been active in the forum and in 'notes', reviewing new features, reporting bugs etc., what exactly is it that I'm supposed to have not done?
note: after being removed eight hours ago, I rejoined... and was again removed
