Schubert

Virtually any of the chamber music, which I find more appealing than his orchestral works. Try the 2nd Piano trio or the Rosamunda quartet, for instance. And of course his piano music is just superb!

A piano standard that many will recognise, but this performance in particular is very special I think.

Have listened to Schubert all week and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Like saying goodbye to an old friend. He got me through an interesting week and will no doubt be back in my life. Beautiful emotional perfect music.

May I ask what you like about Schubert? I have listened to some of his chamber music, some symphonies, lieder, and I kid you not, I could not appreciate a single work. I did not enjoy his thematical material and despised the way he connected them. Furthermore, they seem rather emotionless if I may say so. Would greatly appreciate any help in understanding Schubert
I am having a Schubert weekend but I might extend it for the whole week. He has plenty of music to last a week. A lifetime really but a week for now. Put your favourite Schubert pieces here. Maybe we can do this and choose a composer for each week.
