It has to be Mvt.4 of Symphony 7 for me. Either that, or its second movement.

I am having a Schubert weekend but I might extend it for the whole week.  He has plenty of music to last a week.  A lifetime really but a week for now.   Put your favourite Schubert pieces here.  Maybe we can do this and choose a composer for each week.

What is your favorite composer? I personally like a lot. For example, Mozart, Debussy, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Schubert, Strauss, Schumann, Brahms, Handel, and about 10 others if I can remember their names.

'So, I've decided to write in this language, instead of my own, not to madden you, but to make it less personal. It was silly of me to think that in your eyes I'm more than the hero that killed your butterflies. I can't even write. Look at my poems. They're ridiculously ugly, just like me.' That night, I saw the giant white moon reflected on your lips, and I kissed It. It tasted more like you, than like her. It had your parfume too, and the whole world was jelous, on me and on you, for we were happy like Romeo and Juliet, like Adam and Eve, like Tristan and Isolde, and like Dante and his Beatrice, one meant for the other. Wearing the black dress of night you were like the queen of the giants, a flower that huged the sun without the fear that has you now. And now, well is different, but I still write of your stories from the land of my dreams. And as like before, when I write I'm not brave, I'm just scared of calling you.

Thought you all would enjoy this little story which i received yesterday in a post on-line. Perhaps it's been around here already...thought i'd put it up for those who hadn't experienced it yet.... Minor triad goes into a bar...the WHOLE story: C, E-flat, and G go into a bar. The bartender says, "Sorry, but we don't serve minors." So E-flat leaves, and C and G have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the fifth is diminished, and G is out flat. F comes in and tries to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough. D comes in and heads for the bathroom, saying, "Excuse me; I'll ju... st be a second." Then A comes in, but the bartender is not convinced that this relative of C is not a minor. Then the bartender notices B-flat hiding at the end of the bar and says, "Get out! You're the seventh minor I've found in this bar tonight." E-flat comes back the next night in a three-piece suit with nicely shined shoes. The bartender says, "You're looking sharp tonight. Come on in, this could be a major development." Sure enough, E-flat soon takes off his suit and everything else, and is au natural. Eventually C sobers up and realizes in horror that he's under a rest. C is brought to trial, found guilty of contributing to the diminution of a minor, and is sentenced to 10 years of D.S. without Coda at an upscale correctional facility.

What bands or specific albums have qualities comparable (or almost comparable) to classical music? I'm a fan of prog rock and prog metal so I'd appreciate some less known bands I guess.
