Spotting Brilliant Moves

Not to diminish the brilliancy of these moves, but I'm fairly certain these are dependent on player rating, and would simply be great or even best moves at higher levels, as they would seem more obvious to them.

you missed 2 M1s
Yeah I noticed, tbh I'm not sure why or how I missed them, but I think I was just happy to have won material and wanted to keep things simple without losing on time again. I wasn't looking for the checkmate for some reason.

While I still miss a lot of tactics, I think watching good games from notable players has helped me a lot, now when I'm in a game and see a bishop lined on a castled king I at least consider it, looking when pieces are stacked one over the other or if a piece is undefended behind a row of pawns then I try to think of 'breaking through'.
Eventually your mind kind of tells you something's there because you've seen similar situations before.

Maybe that’s true (I don’t remember, but I think I’ve heard something like that)… either way, they’re still easy to get where I’m at (2200-2400)

My two cents, from an incredibly boring and solid player: Never sacrifice. If it "looks good" but you can't justify why, don't play it. And if it's so good that you know it's correct, then it's not a true sacrifice. You're probably not good enough to tell whether a true sacrifice is any good, so stick to the "sacrifices" where you either gain back even more material, checkmate, simplify into an easily winning endgame, or are otherwise very very obviously winning.
Anything else will be highly exceptional and not affect your chess strength all that much until you hit 1700, where it starts mattering a little.

Found a brilliant move, sadly missed the follow up. Still won
This forum hopes to share games where players have played brilliant moves that changed the course of the game or have overlooked a move that might have given them the better advantage. Brilliant moves are amazing to play and make players confident in there calculations. Most of the times it is that lower rated and some high rated players tend to sacrifice pieces which turnout to be blunders ! This forum hopes to tackle how players must think before sacrificing a piece for an advantage or even a WIN !!
