Hey everyone!! just got home from a chess tournament its 2200 hours and i left at 0600 hours. I met some really good chess players who play OTB internationally. They gave me two books called "silmans complete endgame course from bgginer to master" and "How to reassess your chess". I took second in the unrated category losing to 2 players who had official ratings of 1985 and 2000 and winning against a 1400 and a 1600. They gave me some good advice, learn the end game first and work your way forward. If you dont understand the concepts of the position then learning an opening is just memorizing moves and that only gets you so far. Eat nuts and bannanas before you play a match and snack in between matches energy is key in tournaments. DO PUZZLES THEY WAKE UP YOUR MIND AND TEACH TACTICAL AWARENESS... anyway thanks for attending my TEDS talk on chess
"How to reassess your chess" - I have this book. I love this team you have built, and I'm looking forward to growing as a chess and community player.
"Anyways you've only made me more excited for my first OTB tournaments that have yet to come,"
Max, just look for some local chess folks in your area. We have Northwest Chess and I belong to Everett Chess club. Good people. Smart people!
hello just wanted to post this here and say why you should avoid taking the pawn move 3 in the black bun shilling gambit
